I bought an Ibuypower last week and it's perfect so far. 11900kf, 32gb ram, 3080 etc in the Inwin 305 case. I usually build my own, but with the current prices of individual components being jacked up, I saved over $1000 going with a pre-built.

I've had my Ibuypower B460M i5 for 17 months without any problems. I play games like World of Warships and Tanks, Armored Warfare, Navy War, Tank Force, DCS World and a few more. I've taken it to best buy to add more upgraded hardware, Ram, graphics card and SSD, so that I can keep up with the technology, and will continue to do so. Not a bad system at all, so therefore I recommend it.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with IBP about 15 years ago with a pre-built I bought from them. It would constantly give me a blue screen of death. I sent it to them, they could not figure it out, then would not give me a refund since it was around a year since I had been trying to figure it out/fix it myself. My credit card company refunded me and then they finally did. Hopefully they have improved customer service since then! :) I just purchased a Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 with a RTX 4080 since they were out of stock on the 4090s, going to set that up this weekend! Nice videos! :D

My config is different tho. 12700KF and a 3070ti 32Gig of 3600 ram
@braethorn2 жыл бұрын
In my testing, you're right, the thermals aren't that bad...except for the GPU performance. 80 degrees celsius won't kill your GPU, but the 3060 ti drops frequencies a bit around 80c by default to manage temps, and hits that after about 5 minutes of synthetic stress testing. Removing the front panel dropped the GPU tempurature by a whole 10c. Your PC will work just fine without doing that, but you're losing performance without knowing it.

Man I can't tell you how much this would've helped me around midnight last night. Unboxed my sons new pc, followed all the steps and connected it to the monitor... only for the monitors included instructions to not explain anything. Just pictures where it had me connect a display cable and an hdmi cable making the screen stay black. So after hours of panicking that all tech support wouldn't be reachable I resorted to the tried and true method of unplugging stuff and plugging it back in. And once I unplugged the hdmi, screen popped back on like it had been waiting for us to continue setting it up. Anyway brother thank you for the great content and information

Hey in the future you should include laptops to your weekly round ups
@braethorn2 жыл бұрын
Nah, not gonna do that. Laptops and desktops are too different. With a desktop, I can look at a spec sheet and inspect pictures of the case and have a general idea of what to recommend. Laptops need a more hands-on approach, since keyboard feel, deck flex, touchpad performance, screen quality, overall build quality, etc. can't be communicated with a spec sheet. I won't recommend something if I'm not sure about it myself. Try the Hardware Canucks yt channel, they have a good laptop roundup video for 2021 I believe :)
@ozzynomicon28172 жыл бұрын
By my estimation personally. Asus has the best budget laptop around. Specs are subpar compared to others. But the cooling and breathing on my rog strix 17.3 is crazy. I rarely have issues and that's going into diablo 3 for hours and hours. I also have it max clocked and I run a single 4 inch USB fan facing toward the keys about 2 feet away and I have no issues. I wouldn't recommend asus tuff models. Asus rog strix and asus rog zephyrus are the 2 I recommend for you. Razer makes a better laptop but those are top dollar and not in the lower to mid 1k dollar range. They hit 2k dollars plus haha. Msi isn't bad but their tech support sucks and acer is good aside from the cooling deficit they have. If you got an acer nitro. Take off the bottom case, Dremel tool all the plastic mesh cutouts and put in new aluminum mesh in its place. Then buy the thermal paste and reroute the cooling paths to come out where you cut out and then put new rubber stands to raise the back side up about 3/8 of an inch. And the front by 1/4 of an inch. And then buy a 4 inch USB fan and do what I do. Hp omens are alright but they are plagued with overheating like acer nitro and you can do with them with what I said above. But they have less openings usually. My list is here. 1 razer 2 asus rog strix and zephyrus 3 acer nitro /hp pavilion 4 hp omen 5 Lenovo legion 6 anything else I haven't listed as I don't have any particular preference on the others. This is my own list/opinions and it's based on my moderate game play of roughly 20-30 hours a week. Few hours a day roughly. I have not tested anything other than acer nitro and my owning of asus rog strix. Before I bought my asus. I did heavy reviews of every gaming laptop as I work on the road. There are also differences between gpus and processor types that can change things. But on laptops. You have to go for efficiency rather than power that matches the type of display the screen has. Most games will operate well on a 2080 with ryzen 5. But don't push past 120 frame rate and don't overclock a laptop until you do all the heavy cooling setups I said above. The Alienware m15 pre dell was one of the best you could buy. Most those are outdated now as they have older gpu and processor now. But an i7 with a 1650 can do well for most moderate players. And they are under 1k dollars.

Probably easiest way is to copy your user folder: C:\users\your_Username to an external hard drive and then to your new PC. Programs cannot usually be transferred so you will need to re-install them on your new PC. You can usually move games, but it depends on your game clients.

Would you suggest leaving the left glass panel off for better air flow?
@ApexxJimmy2 жыл бұрын
I'm not very experienced with PC's but I would think not. I think the performance of the exhaust fans would greatly diminish because if the panel isn't on, the positive and negative flow would be way far off. Basically the exhaust fans wouldn't suck out nearly as much air. Which makes the inside temperature higher. Plus all the hardware will be more open to collect dust and whatnot. I know some intake fans have filters to trap dust. They restrict some airflow though. It's on the user on how they want to maintain their system. Cleaning the filter or hitting the hardware with compressed air, etc. If you're in a dusty environment and or have animals, I would think a filter would be recommended.
