Set up your Sky Broadband hub effortlessly with our comprehensive guide.
Ensure your broadband is activated by midnight on the specified day on your hub packaging. Start by locating your master phone socket, usually at the front of your house with a BT Openreach or G.Fast logo. Unplug any existing connections. Identify the label color on the back of your hub: use the black cable for gray labels, connecting the white end to your socket and the purple end to your hub. For black labels, if your socket has two ports, use the black cable; for one port, use the gray cable. Connect your phone to the hub's phone socket, plug in the power cable, and turn on your hub. Wait for the power, internet, and WiFi lights to turn green, which may take up to five minutes. Always leave your hub on overnight for updates and optimal performance. Remember, turning off your hub will disable your phone service. Your username and password are located on the back of the hub..

Last summer I paid £20 fee (for set up) to Sky. I got conned. The engineer came out and said the box should have arrived in the post. The sky operative said engineer would bring it. Engineer looked around the outside of the property as well as inside in an elaborate show of doing something useful. Then left saying box was in the mail. It never arrived! What can sky do to compensate me for this lousy service?

Hi there Patricia 👋 I'm terribly sorry to see that this has happened. Usually the engineer will bring any TV equipment with them on the day of installation. Have you been in touch with our teams over the phone to have this looked into?

Hi there Jhosue 👋 yes, if you have a master telephone socket that says Openreach on it, this socket will work if you're looking to have broadband services with Sky 🙂

You don’t provide the cable with the purple end, mine only came with a yellow Ethernet cable

Just got our router. We didn't get a broadband cable for the purple slot, and we don't have the socket for the other end to plug in.

Hi i have plugged the black cable into phone socket and purple end into back of sky box. But i dont have a cable to go into the UK phone connection in the back of the sky hub, where do i get one of these?

Thank you for letting me know Cole. If you don't have a landline, you don't need to plug any cables into the UK phone connection as this connection is for a landline phone if you have internet calls with Sky 🙂

Hi there 👋 Your router will have a small reset button at the back of it that you can press and hold which will reset the router for you 🙂
