I think a good thing starting out is to give the client at least a couple of takes on the copy so they have some choices to pick from and it will make them happy.

Yes, that’s good practice. It does make your client feel well taken cared of. :)

I like the negotiations regarding accepting the gig for $10, yet requesting that the client will send more projects your way. I think maybe start low if being a beginner, or simply tell the client negotiations can be had. Adjust price as you get more experience. You don't want to be low-balled either..
@annabuena
@annabuena 2 жыл бұрын
Precisely! You need to build your gig page with good reviews, so at the start work on that. :)

Hi! A quick question, how much does an intermediate and expert voice over actor charges? how do we know when to charge more?
@annabuena
@annabuena Жыл бұрын
It really varies for each VO. If you feel you have enough body of work to support the higher rate, go ahead and test the waters and see if the fish will bite.:)

Hi Anna! I have a question! As someone starting out on Fiver in VO as well, do you feel like pricing at $10 is not being competitive with the people just starting out who are pricing their gigs at $5? I feel like I might be shooting myself in the foot if I'm trying to gain reviews and clients, while pricing higher than the minimum. What are your thoughts?
@annabuena
@annabuena 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Rebecca! You can look at those profile who are offering $5 and see what comes with it. Have a listen to their demo reel as well and have a feel for their skill level. You can base your pricing there. If you’re okay to start with 5, then go for it, the important thing is to start. Don’t forget to optimize your gig page as well. That’s very important to be found by clients too. Best of luck!!! :)

HI ANNA I LIKE THOSE HEAD PHONES ARE THEY GOOD FOR VOICE?
@annabuena
@annabuena 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Nate! Unfortunately, not good for voiceover as sound leaks from it and microphone can pick it up. For Voiceover I use my Samson headphones to monitor. :)

Hi, I am just starting out. I have a demo reel but have not done any work yet. I shared my demo on my social media and some friends and acquaintances reached out to me about pricing. I went by the industry rate (stating lowest rate in category as my fee). Should I charge even less since I am just starting out AND I know the people?
@annabuena
@annabuena 2 жыл бұрын
Your friends should be the most willing to pay full price! Hahahaha! See if the price you put out will attract clients to you. If they go to you and negotiate, keep an open mind about it. If after a month or two and you sense that your rate may be a little to high for the people who are considering you, then you can adjust your rate. Hope that helps! :)

I notice that freelance voice actors also do technical stuff. is it normal? do we charge separately/differently for that? I am not good at technical aspect.

hi, yes you can charge for these separately but you do need to know how to do them.:)

How much we can charge for per 10-15 min voiceover?
@annabuena
@annabuena 4 ай бұрын
That would really depend on you. I prefer to charge per word rather than the length, because that will vary on the speed of reading.
