Ok john u did good at convincing me to use the wrist set method next time out. Ive always been confused on wrist set. I'll see if this helps my draw bias. Thx john

I'm convinced. I took this to the course. Zero practice. Zero swings prior to teeing off. Well was an easy 70 and my swing has been reborn. Tyvm

John, did I tell you that this is one of the best demonstrations for setting the wrists I have ever seen. The "pushing down, pulling up" on the shaft will give me the positions I have been searching for in my swing. I also appreciate the "caveat" on the bowed wrist since I am a senior and don't rotate as quickly as I once did.

Thank you Mr. Dunigan! I’m a Covid time new golfer age 69 and a retired ICU nurse and because of your wrist set instruction and chip set info I can actually golf and now feel like I can golf with anyone!! Today on a vacation in Palm Springs I played with my husband and two experienced golfers and got several compliments the entire time! You have helped me more than you know!! Thank you, thank you!!!!!👍

I practiced sand shots for two hours with extension then went to hit regular shots and they all were going right and low as you say until I figured it out. The extension helped me keep the face open through the sand shot however. Nice to know what was going on. Thanks

Excellent vid JD Any views on the forwards thumb press and backwards wrist beak method for kick starting the windup??
@JohnDunigan Жыл бұрын
Absolutely that move can help, but a kickstart is very helpful-starting from dead still can cause real problems.

John, I'm having a hard time with my driver doing this. Doing fine with iron. Would you consider doing a video on setting wrists with driver?
@JohnDunigan2 жыл бұрын
This will be covered in my next video.

Hi John , I find that when I push down with the lead hand I tend to increase the slight cup I have at address therefore open the face ! Am I doing the “”push down “” wrong ? Thanks for the advice
@JohnDunigan2 ай бұрын
When you set the wrist, keep your eyes on the back of your left hand and be sure to keep it flat. you can put a chop stick down your glove and against your left wrist to help guide the motion. The wrist set is less than you think...until you extend the wrist (cup) which opens the face.

John, Please confirm that I can’t set my wrists too early with my irons. I’ve struggled with the proclivity to do so for many years (& everyone says that it can hurt my distance) . Thanks 😊
@JohnDunigan2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave, There's nothing wrong with an early wrist set. It's a matter of preference and what works best for YOU.!
@daveparsons77562 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDunigan thanks Jon. Their argument being that my arc was too small on backswing, but I countered with your backswing does not make your down swing. You could start your swing at the top of your backswing (Matsuyama) and still make a great downswing 👍🏻

Anyway i get the left wrist bowed/flat a little bit while hinging it in an inclination angle ( tilting the left side). Is it correct?
@JohnDunigan2 жыл бұрын
Yes--just enough to square the face--let the ball tell you how much.
@atitudlanggam31253 жыл бұрын
John, is this applicable to driver?
@JohnDunigan3 жыл бұрын
Yes, BUT you will see many great golfers literally leave the ground with their front foot or both feet, so the pressure "blacks out."
