i just want to say thank you, i have been saying for years that bio active set ups were the best things for reptiles and was always told i was wrong by everyone. i have always done bio tanks and planted tanks even when i was a kid back in the 70's.

Would you consider doing a video for a a Northern blue tongue skink? Since they require less humidity but need relatively hardy plants to withstand their squishing and digging it would be helpful to see what plants would do best! 🌿

Hi Josh I've been watching your videos since 2018. I'm recently a veterinary medicine student in Taiwan, Asia I really like the concept of your husbandry and surroundings you provide to these lucky animals. but unfortunately, because of our high high population density. Many people have wrong thought of keeping reptiles on tissue or toilet paper in a very small enclosure, and that is very wrong. As far as I know, there are maybe a few people trying bioactive enclosure, in Taiwan. But always not that "bioactive" ya know. They only put some soil and plants, no self-maintenance, no biodegradable at all. I really like your products and the concept you want to deliver. But sadly, there are actually many risks to ship your products across country. All I want to say is thanks for your love towards these creature. Maybe I will try this on my own, combining with my knowledge. I really hope everyone who keeps reptiles should watch your videos. Maybe there are some ways that I can translate or promote your channels? You can contact me by youtube, we can have further discussion. Sorry for cracky English, haha.

Did you have a drainage layer underneath? I'm thinking of switching my bluey to bioactive, but he loves to burrow so I wasnt sure if/how that was just done. (I.e. clay balls and mesh wire or just clay balls etc.)
@Rebreakings4 жыл бұрын
nah he said he didnt due to his type of air flow into his tank. but if unhave higher air flow put rocks or clay balls with a mesh on top to separate the dirt from drainage. ( thats what i saw almost everything with bioactive terrariums do so id assume it would be the same there
@Lyrabela4 жыл бұрын
@@Rebreakings thanks! I must have missed him saying that. I was just worried since mine already enjoys burrowing in his substrate, would an attempt be made on the wire mesh?

Will a 50 watt be hot enough to keep the basking area at about 100 degrees? Or is that just because this cage keeps the bulb lower than cages where the light sits on top?

Once again 2 great companies together!! @Biodude, I am interested in a bioactive setup, just a little concerned about the insects (clean up crew, esp the earwigs) biting the reptile and or getting out? Does the clean up crew prevent the daily cleaning?

They play a vital role with the cleaning, yes. They do help prevent cleaning/maint but you should still always look and see for the well being of the pet : )

Its the equipment/material and time you are paying for. Its not easy getting custom kit boxes together for an easy how to for the general consumer. There are not glass terrariums that are the same size as some of these larger ones offered.
