How do you look after moss without it becoming too water logged or not enough water. Mine keeps dying. Hi Mike, i have followed this video (the drylok part) closely to build my own tank for my red eye tree frog. How many coats of drylok did you use? And how many coats of varnish? What do you do with all the little holes that appear throughout the drylok? Like the holes that go into the foam? And lastly, did your drylok peel at the edges where the silicone meets the glass? Thank you in advance! I love your work and ive watched this more times than id like to admit!!! Haha
@MikeTytula21 күн бұрын
@@Emberinthewyld thanks for watching the video! I can’t remember exactly how many layers I did, but around 4. I just did one coat of varnish but you could do two if you want. Awesome as viv! I just got my first one for Green Tree frogs (Aus) and wanted to do a shallow 'pond' at the bottom. How did you do the filtration for the water or is that not needed?
@MikeTytula3 жыл бұрын
I ended up putting a pump in, I would strongly recommend drilling a second hole and installing external filtration.

How would this be done exactly? Putting an external filter into a paludereum with a closed lid tank… there’s basically no info on this when searched. I have an exo terra 24x18x36 and want to turn it into something similar and was going to put a normal pump in for water circulation. Did you like that exo terra substrate better than an ABG substrate?
@MikeTytula2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the use case honestly! For semi-paludarium setups like this one I think that the substratum is definitely the superior choice.

In that case both will work, I know several people who house their frogs on exclusively Exo Terra Substratum and they are doing great. So realistically it's up to you

Exo Terra website is pretty much just for information there is no purchasing. To purchase, you must find one of their retailers and order the enclosure through them.

You should have some way to remove water. Especially if they are tree frogs because most people will heavily mist and saturate the soil.

I bought some pre-colored Dryloc from Lowe's recently and was wondering if I could use it for a tank? From what I can tell, it's the exact same can you used in the Amazon Link, I just requested them to mix in grey at the store.
