How to Setup a DeWalt Table Saw

In this video I’m going to show you how to setup a DeWalt table saw along with recommended upgrades. This is model DWE7491RS, however it will cover others as well.

Seriously +1, and thanks!! The owner's manual explains nothing 😢 I'm noticing some differences with my one (UK), the blocker of which is that the mitre gauge slot is obstructed by a screw. It looks like it can be moved but I have to find a tiny screwdriver to undo it first 🕵️

I just bought this saw today. My only tip is regarding the stand: when you are collapsing the legs, start with the legs closest to the wheels, set it down on the wheels, and then lift it back on its kickstand, then collapse the other two legs. To deploy the stand, just do it in reverse. This is safer and puts less stress on the legs closest to the wheels. I’ll be using the rest of your tips over the next few days as I finish the setup/fine tuning!

I used your video today to tune up and calibrate my new DeWalt table saw, and it was extremely helpful and user-friendly. I even switched out the DeWalt blade with the Diablo blade you recommended. Thanks for link to the ‘Fulton Precision Miter Gauge with Aluminum Miter Fence’. Mine arrived today, and it’s an impressive piece of engineering. Once adjusted there is no rocking side to side at all. So much better than the one that comes with the saw. Thanks again👍

Great video. I would like to add that the saw I purchased need slightly more work to get the blade parallel to the miter slots. There are four bolts on the underside of the table that allow for the blade to move laterally. I also found that the angle adjustment lever must be unlocked to allow the front of the blade to be adjusted.

Nice, easy vid to follow that's more in-depth than most ... the only suggestion I have to make it the one stop shop is how to adjust and correctly set the 90/45 mitre angle guide and stop cam and, like pretty much every other set-up video I've watched on this saw, you didn't mention the anti kick back attachment that comes with it (stored underneath behind front cover on right) ... but apart from that I have this vid saved and it's the one I followed in setting mine up 👍
