Me, too! I am older and have problems with vision AND am just generally impatient to start with. And I should have watched this video BEFORE I screwed the pieces together in the wrong order...had a heckuva time UNscrewing the pieces the pole in order to put them back together in the correct sequence. If I had just watched this video FIRST, I could have saved myself some aggravation!

@@sheretahughes5308 Unscrew the nut on the top light and put the shade on then screw the nut back on. You must remove the nut to install the top shade. I hope that helps.

@@globaleffect1969 Wife picked up same light December 2022 at Walmart. I have the same problem with the top shade. I believe the cut out hole in the shade was incorrectly sized and it is too small for the plastic nut to go through the shade and screw into the lower plastic threads. I might see if I can enlarge the opening in the shade for the nut to go through it.

If I recall, there were instructions regarding in what order to join the rods so as to prevent twisting of the cord. It did say that the twisting could be a fire hazard. There are also specifications on what type of lightbulbs to use. I've lost that information and am wondering if anyone might have it.

Hope this helps. Couldn't find the instructions. The instruction say: Step 1. screw top lamp and lower lamp together. Step 2. screw #1 (bottom) pole to base. Step 3. screw #2 pole to #1 pole Step 4. Scew #3 pole to #2 pole Step 5. Pull extra cord out from bottom and screw #3 pole and pole from lamp shades together. I found it easier to just start from bottom and go up. What they don't instruct you, is that when you screw both lamp poles together, you need to turn the top lamp counter clock wise a few turns before you screw it into the bottom lamp, otherwise if you just screw the to lamps together it will twist the wire and cause a problem. Basically you are twisting the wires when you turn the top lamp counter clockwise a few times and when you screw the top lamp and the bottom lamp together you are untwisting the wires in the poles as you screw the poles together. @@globaleffect1969 I'm still having trouble with the top lampshade. The main reason I bought it was to have a top light and run my bulb security camera on the bottom one. It would work excellently if I just knew how to secure the top shade. Maybe I will just replace the top shade with a better-quality lampshade.

@@bootsierobicheaux7124 I made a second video on the top part because many people are having trouble with it, the top lamp shade came with the nut screwed on it already, you need to remove the plastic nut on top first then put the shade on and screw the nut back on. Not sure if that's what you are talking about but most people having trouble with the top part didn't realize the nut was already screwed on and needs to be removed first then put back on after putting the top shade in place.

I bought one just like yours. What made me nervous was how when I twisted on the upper parts, it twisted the cord so much that it makes me wonder if it's compromised & could short out. Also, the top one has cord so twisted that it's making the top automatically come screwed loose. I probably should have gone with one without an arm, so less twisting of cord. I will probably take it apart & try redoing it so cord won't twist as much. Also, plan to get a 3 way bulb hoping they advertised this correctly saying that it has a 3 way switch for the top light.

Yes the twisted cord I didn't care for myself. I had to counter clockwise twist the upper part before I started actually screwing in so it wouldn't twist the cord all up in the tube. I had to pull some of the extra cord out through the bottom of the lamp. If you gonna redo the top part of the lamp, count how many turns you do to unscrew the top part of the lamp and before you screw it back in, spin the top unit counter clockwise that many turns before you start screwing it back on that way when you do screw it back on, it won't be twisted up in the tube and it will not try to unscrew itself anymore.

@@globaleffect1969 thank you very much! That's exactly what I realized that I had to do. I also twisted the cord at the base the way it wanted to go naturally to straighten it out. I also noticed at the top, the long switch was really bound up, so lifted up the socket to see what was the matter. The mfrs left so much cord in there that the switch wouldn't hardly go down into its slot. If the wires hadn't been fixated to the screws with a little solder, I would have shorten the cord & reconnect the wires. So I did my best to push them down a little more. And yes, the top socket DOES have a 3 way switch in it.

One of the pipes on mine doesn’t have the lil metal thing to screw it on to the other and I’m so confused

See if it wasn't screwed to far into one of the pipes,on mine on one pipe the screw treaded part was screwed in to far into the one of the pipes, if it is unscrew it from the inside the pipe a little bit if so you can screw both pieces of pipes into it.

You might need to pull the wire from the bottom if the lamp to get rid of the extra wire on top so it will go in.

Actually to put one together you need to start by buying one, finding one or have one given to you. I didn't put all that in the video. I started off on the part where you open the box because I wouldn't know if the person watching the video bought one, found one or had one given to them. If I did do that, I'm sure I would get some KARENS or KEVINS in here commenting asking "why buy one, I got one for free" or "Why get one for free, if I can just buy one" You know there is always some negative people out that just want to make a ridiculous comments on people's videos. I can never understand why some people are like that. I use to make my videos without starting out by opening the box, but many people prefer and ask if I can make my videos starting out by opening the box so they can see it from the beginning, which makes you right, it is a brilliant way to start with. so I now make my videos by starting out by opening the box first.

Try pulling the cord from the bottom as you screw in the top tube. Try spinning the top tube a few times before screwing it on, it will untwist itself as you screw the top tube on, without spinning it a few times the top tube will want to unscrew itself as you try to screw it on. Hope that helps if I'm not too late.

No, it takes a regular light bulb. I've used two different brands and both worked. I just took one of the ceiling fan after I read your comment and tried it and that one worked also.

Blood blister, I smashed it. It's long gone, that part of the nail grew out a long time ago. Some say one should drill a little hole and let the blood out, i always just let them grow out.
