How to Setup a Star Tracker for Astrophotography - COMET NEOWISE!

Come along for a behind the scenes experience into setting up a tracker for astrophotography. Using a tracker can provide higher detail to be recorded in the night sky when shooting long exposures. Additionally, tracked exposures also allow for lower ISOs to be used, which means higher dynamic range and better color in your images. Long exposures on a tripod without the use of a tracker are limited by star trailing due to the Earth's rotation. Woah, great images! I see you are using dovetail L- bracket with a ballhead and no counterweigth. Still tracks just fine, even with a 70-200?

Ya I only shot for a handful of minutes without the counterweight, but I definitely do not recommend doing this as the system is out of balance in this configuration and can tip over if you let it run too long.
