How to setup Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the 2022 Hyundai Tucson

Hello Steve. Do I need to disconnect Bluetooth to my phone in my Tucson Hybrid Limited to use the wired Android Auto? I connected my Android phone into the left USB plug and nothing happens...

Hey! You should just have to connect over USB and it should work. Few things though.. 1. Delete the phone connection from the vehicle and then the vehicle connection from the phone. Then reconnect over usb. If that doesn’t work then.. 2. Make sure you’re using the usb-a plug that has the data icon. If that doesn’t work.. 3. You may need to replace the USB cable too. Not all cables support data transfer (some are just for charging)

Hey Christian! Whether you have a wired or wireless connection is going to depend on the model of the Tucson you have. If it's wireless, both bluetooth and wifi have to be turned on your phone for it to work. If you've already connected your phone via bluetooth and wireless CarPlay is not working, simply delete the phone from your vehicle and remove the vehicle from your phone and then re-connect!

@@CarsWithSteve thanks Steve, my applecar play keep turning off and on by itself when using the wireless mode. Not sure the reason, everything is updated. Thank you for the tips. By any chance, could you comment on the type of gas this car use? The manual shows 87 and 91 on the same page. It seems there is a mistake.

@@Diegotanga10203 That's really odd that it keeps turning on and off. What model iPhone do you have? The manual is a bit odd for showing both but it's in the wording. It requires a minimum octane of 87 or higher. The research octane level (91) most likely means that horsepower/torque specs were achieved using 91 octane instead of the standard 87

@@Diegotanga10203 Hmm I don't think any of the screens offer support for both wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.. it should just be one or the other depending on the trim level of the Tucson you have. Has your iPhone ever been able to connect via wireless CarPlay? Or does it just work via bluetooth for phone calls and music?

I'm sorry this isn't straight forward at all. I have the Limited trim and I can't get wireless Android auto to work for the life of me. All the other BT functions work, but Android Auto pretends wifi isn't an option, even though you just demonstrated wireless Android auto.

It’s wireless CarPlay and AA on the lower trims but the higher trims are a usb connection
