You saved the freakin day. I thought my older Sony avr was just going to hell and the arc wouldn’t work BUT you are the first one I’ve seen who said anything about going into the avr menu is turning on settings for the arc, luckily I still have my 13 year old control for it and got it to work. Thank you very much! I was about to buy a brand new avr, which I still might eventually because it would be nice to have Bluetooth. Thanks!

Great video instructions... I have been using a sound bar (Yamaha ATS-1080) that I purchased from Costco. I recently purchased a Denon AVR-S760H to replace my older Kenwood receiver. When watching regular TV programming I prefer using the soundbar, but to watch movies, I would prefer to use my surround sound with subwoofer. Can you tell me the best way to make my connections, so that I can control the audio output device according to what I watch?

I just replaced a RCA 55" that was connected to my Yamaha AV, with a Vizio 65" Smart TV and I have not been able to configure the audio in the same way. I had everything (Cablebox, Blueray player) going into the AV and then the HDMI going out of the AV to the TV. It works fine watching regular TV but when the Smart TV is switched to Netflix, or Disney+, I still have the cable TV audio. I have set up the ARC between the Smart TV and the AV and I have selected the correct function (Audio 2) but I get no sound at all. I think I have made the correction adjustments on the TV. Any ideas?

What brand of cable are you using? I have tried several different brands of "8k" cables and are not working with ARC. I don't want to waste any more money and want to get one that it known to work. Thank you. Btw, great video!

Hi. Congratulations for the your channel!! It's very good!! I have a Yamaha RX V683 receiver, and a LG CX 55 conected in ARC mode. When i try to define DSP setup in other modes that STRAIGHT, the AV receiver show "Not avaliable" and not change for the other sound modes. How i can have a solution for this case? Thank you.

Hi I have been trying for hours to get my tv to play thought my new Yahama reciver. What should display on the reciever, all I get is HDMI1, HDMI2, HDM!3 etc and usb , blue tooth and FM nothing about tv.

I have a new 75 inch LG and since I put the TV in my surround sound is much more "quiet". I think a high speed hdmi cable setup like this shows is better than the optic cable I'm currently using. Your opinion on that if you don't mind. I have the exact same yamaha receiver and if you could give any input on connecting a LAN line to it I'd appreciate that as well. I don't see any benefit to the LAN line but obviously I'm not the smartest on this subject.

Hi I have a problem with my Rxv6a. I get a decoder off message on the reciever screen when connected to my LG TV for via ARC. There is no sound. Everything else works OK as they are connected to Hdmi connection. But arc has a problem and I can't use my TV apps.

Hi, Please help, I have harman Kardon 3700 AVR. I cannot get its instruction to pop up on my TV Screen. I go to ARC HDMI screen on TV, and nothing pops up. No way to get the menu on there. I tried all the buttons in the HK3700 remote. Something pops up saying RADIO, SOURCE etc but nothing that makes sense. its not working. :(

Good tip, but my 2 year old Sony HD590 did it automatically. I'm not even sure I have that on the setup. Update: Went into my Sony receiver, no setup button for ARC. How do I hook up my LG OLED TV and make it play through the speakers? Any help would be appreciated.

“If” both your TV and your most recent Sony (not the one u mentioned from 2 years ago) have HDMI (ARC or eARC) AND if your recent Sony isn’t setting up ARC as the “2 year ago Sony” there’s a setting somewhere with the SONY HDMI setting that’s maybe not called ARC but something along the lines of ARC. Make sure your tv is set to “external speakers” as well

There was a setup for HDMI on the Sony (I found a download of the manual), I turned it on. No luck. I've spent 4 hours trying to read about this, other people are having this problem, but I've either ruled out or solved all the "possibilities" and no luck. Only thing left is to buy an optical cable and hope it will work. Very frustrated with LG right now.

Nice video ,thanks for sharing. {:>). I just purchased a new Yamaha RX-V385 which is one of the least expensive AV receivers they carry. Unlike the one you featured, the new ones have a feature that automatically detects what HDMI port is receiving a signal. " Auto Detect ". You enable auto detect then ARC and you're done for life. Quite an improvement it seems.

I just bought a Yamaha RX-V385 and I'm still struggling to get my LG flat screen to talk to my Yamaha. So far I've spoken to techies at Yamaha and LG but no luck so far. I guess if I can't get them to work perhaps with the help from these excellent videos I'll have to consider the possibility that the Yamaha is faulty and replace it under warranty. The problem is that the closest dealer is in Ottawa which is 100 miles away. I must say that the Yamaha people have been great.

What happens if your TV does not have Arc but your Denon does cuz I can't get picture or sound in my TV

Ralph, a couple things to note to try to help answer your question.......in order for the ARC feature to work both the TV and the Denon must have ARC, connected correctly and settings enabled correctly. Given you mention your TV not having ARC AND not seeing a picture or sound you are perhaps not on the right input on your TV. Using the remote you use to control your TV...locate the button labeled Input/Source and toggle through each input until you see the picture and sound. Also, perhaps your Denon isn't set to its proper input.

Thank you this video really helped me out I've got a Yamaha RX-v581 does Dolby Atmos but no Dolby vision I updated it last night lost everything. This video put me on track had to do a bit more stuff aswell. Put my UHD 4k blu ray player & Apple TV direct into my new Sony 65 inch A90J as Dolby vision wasn't being detected but now its all working. Sky TV Vodafone vision 4k player now TV and my ps5 & xbix series x. Amp won't do Dolby vision but I bypassed it. I calibrated the TV last night the picture on the new Dune 4k disc us breathtaking.

Thanks for the video. I have a question hopefully someone here can help with. I have a Sony 850C TV that uses ARC and a Yamaha A860 receiver. I used to use an optical cable for sound going into my receiver whenever I used aps on the TV...think Netflix, Prime, etc. I never had any issues. When I got HBO max and Disney +, I could only get stereo sound out of the optical cable so I switched to using the ARC. I read that they use Dolby Digital+ and ARC doesn't support that. That solved the stereo issue, I get 5.1 surround, but I am constantly getting sound drop offs....where it just cuts out for a second or two. It only does that with HBO max and Disney+. I have no issues with Hulu, Netflix, or Prime. I tried different cables but have the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
