Excellent presentation and instruction. I learned a lot about my new gimbal by watching the entire video. I appreciate you pointing out each axis and its name as that is sort of confusing to begin with. After watching this video, my gimbal is now perfectly balanced with my Canon C70 and RF15-35.

Can you advise how to start recording in A7S3 using handles & transmission
@DJIBrett Жыл бұрын
Probably your best bet would be to pair your gimbal to your camera via bluetooth. Once connected, transmission and handles should allow you to start and stop recording. The other way would to be to connect the Sony Multi cable (looks like micro usb) to your camera and then the USB-C end into the RSS port (top most port on the gimbal. Make sure on your camera that 'Smartphone Control' is set to off and the 'PC Remote' is set to On and usb.

Good afternoon and thank you for the great tutorial. I am balancing my Canon R5C with a relatively heavy RF 15-35 lens. I went through a number of tutorials and still didn't have the RS3 Pro balanced, your instruction was perfect. Seems that I can't use the focus motor adapter plate because I cannot get the camera to quit falling back on the tilt axis, there isn't enough adjustment on that arm.I removed it and slid the bottom of my Smallrig cage into the long bracket and it balanced perfectly.

great video! I use Nikon d500 with my rs 3pro. However, the Bluetooth of my Nikon doesn't pair with it. Is there any solution for that. I've already updated the firmware 1.31 of my Nikon but it is still not working! Thank you for helping! Solo
@SamysCameraOfficial Жыл бұрын
Bluetooth on your camera is only for tethering with smart devices, You would have to physically connect the camera to the gimble via HDMI and USB to be able to control the camera! Hope this helps!

great video! amazing ! one question: i have the Blackmagic 6k G2 with Tilta cage, it's normal that the PAN & ROLL Axis will collide ?
@SamysCameraOfficial Жыл бұрын
Certain payloads will restrict the full movement of the gimble, stick within the boundaries and you should be fine!

Great Video! How often do you have to do this balancing?
@SamysCameraOfficial10 ай бұрын
Depends, every time you change the weight of the payload like switching lenses or adding filters you need to perform balancing.

No matter what I do I can't get my Sony A7r3 to work with Raveneye, I did go in and turn off control with smartphone and changed to PC Remote. Any advice?
@DJIBrett Жыл бұрын
For using your camera with Raveneye, you will only be able to start/stop recording and control the digital zoom of your camera. You should use the included Multi cable (looks like micro usb). If you use a USB-C to USB-C cable for connecting, it generally won't work. Let me know if this helps or not. Cheers!

@@DJIBrett I've gone Ghetto with it lol, I got most of what I need working with just connecting via Bluetooth and since I'm a total noob its a good starting point. I've been saving towards a Sony A1 but just saw that the Sony A7s4 is about to make its introduction so maybe I'll go that route and save a dollar or two and then be able to use all of my gimbals features. Cheers

I've tried everything - this video, other videos and yet I just cannot get it balanced with the Blackmagic 6K Pro and Lindar. So frustrated now I've given up with it and waiting for the company to send me details on how to process the return. A shame because it could have been a great bit of kit; but even my friend can't get it balanced and yet he uses the same set up so - who knows - maybe this one is faulty but, either way, I'm done :(

Hi Brett, Thanks a lot for this informative video -- I really liked the closeup shots of the gimbal so I could see the build quality. At this point, I am not sure whether it is best to keep my Zhiyun Crane 2 for the next few years or upgrade to the RS3 Pro. I have had the Zhiyun Crane 2 since 2018 and have been using it to make walking videos -- feel free to check them out on my channel. It is calibrated nicely to compensate for sudden turn movements (good amount of deadband). Though the micro jitters and z axis bounce movement can bother me sometimes -- especially on intense hikes. I am wondering in your opinion whether it is worth it to upgrade from the Zhiyun Crane 2 to the DJI RS3 Pro?
@Infosmercial2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! For starter, thanks for taking the time to watch the video. I’ve worked extensively with Zhiyun in the past and their products. The Crane 2 was a fantastic gimbal, especially for the price point. Since the release of that product though, there have been pretty significant upgrades to gimbals in general and the DJI RS3 Pro is no exception. In terms of performance and features, it is a class leading product. The motor strength and stability is excellent so that issue of micro jitters is pretty much a thing of the past. The RS3 Pro is significantly more portable than the Crane 2. The Z-Axis bounce is something inherent to all 3 axis gimbals. While there are accessories designed to mitigate that problem, Z-Axis bounce is something that generally requires technique and some post production editing to clean it up. If I were in your shoes and it were my decision, I would definitely upgrade. The RS3 Pro is good enough to last 4-6 years and deliver top results that whole time. Samy’s should have plenty in stock if your considering buying one. Let me know if you have any more questions! All the best -Brett
@VeeTravels2 жыл бұрын
@@Infosmercial Wow thanks, Brett. I am mainly just after a dumb gimbal that can do well in my walking videos on my channel. Do you think the deadband problem on the RS3 will ever be fixed? I need a lot of deadband because I naturally twitch my hands while walking in my videos. For my videos, although the Crane 2 is pretty outdated, it still does an excellent job at absorbing my hand twitches with its deadband forgiveness. The main thing that bothers me with the Crane 2 is that it still has micro jitter isssues -- it would be the perfect gimbal for me if it was more smooth and somehow absorbed the Z-Axis movement (aka bounces). I am worried even though the RS3 is much more technologically advaned, it will be a step back with regards to raw stabilization performance and deadband like I mentioned above.

despite watching this over and over and over I just can't get a Canon 1dx2 (which is listed as a compatible camera, and well within the weight limit at 2.2kg) to balance it just doesn't stay stable on any axis - what am I doing wrong
@SamysCameraOfficial10 ай бұрын
Hello @snapperpaul3, the 1DX Mark II is a compatible camera. What lens are you working with? Because the 1DX is a taller camera, you must first find the center of balance of the payload. Keep in mind that this is sometimes closer to the lens mount. Brett demonstrates this step at the 7:00-minute mark.

Using the correct cable to for my 5d mark 4, I cannot trigger recording with grip. I did enable remote on camera. Any tips?
@SamysCameraOfficial Жыл бұрын
This is the only set of instructions I could find on DJI's website regarding setup with the Canon 5D IV camera and Multi-Camera Control Cable (Micro-USB) 1.Make sure to switch to photo mode to take photos and to video mode to record videos. 2.When using focus pull, switch the lens focus mode to AF (Autofocus) and turn off the AF servo of the camera. 3.For some Canon cameras, their screen does not display images when using HDMI (such as connecting to a monitor or RavenEye). To display the live view on the camera screen, set the HDMI output of the camera to Camera Screen + HDMI Monitor. Note that this is only supported on some camera models.
