Really good video. Someone installed my setup, but never came back to walk me through most of this stuff😡 Took the money and ran. I have subbed just on the strength of the way you explain this stuff🌹 I have a question. On remote playback how did you get your upper and lower lines on the time stamps to be blue🤔 and also I see that you have red pegs on the events. My lower line is blue, but the upper line is gray and places the red pegs if there is an event. I simply want the same set up as yours. Thanks. I ended up clicking the smart view in the playback screen and that seemed to do the trick. I have a solid blue line on the bottom and grey with red tabs on the top where it detects motion. I did not see the smart tab selected on your playback🤔 Did I do the right thing? What is that tab for?

is this software available for ALL hikvision cctv cameras/systems or only specific models? So, if you buy ANY hikvision equipment, this is the software we'll be using for free (of course), or are there other softwares included "in the box" with hikvision equipment? Is it true that to be able to use the motion detection function you have to pay a fee (!!) to use it, even after you have bought hikvision cameras & equipment?? Does this same software work for borh macs and iphones? Thanks!

Or with the previous software all you had to do was right click and select all cameras motion record . Now it’s a convoluted process .

Hi Guys I bought a Hikvision camera of you guys through ebay, i am getting many false alerts on motion detection, even with sensitivity set as low as it will go, after a bit of reading thought line detection may be a better option. However when i try and setup line detection i am getting an error as follows "not enough resources disable following functions in VCA SETTINGS MENU 1 A3A4 Line crossing detection or intrusion detection" I am trying to put line detection on all four cameras There are no errors coming up on the older analog cameras when applying setting just when i apply the settings to the hikvision cameras. I have four cameras two hikvision and two older analog cameras dvr is DS-7208HUHI-F1/N hope you can help thanks

If are buying this for the motion detection feature don't bother. It will drive you nuts with false alarms all day and all night. Even on lowest sensitivity. All part of the big china con job. Most of these units don't have a buzzer inside. They took it out without telling anyone.

I am not sure what is wrong but I cant get motion to work by itself but when I use continuous it does not put the motion marks. I also notice that when looking at the grid it does not fill with red or ggreen squares like the manual said it should. Is there a setting im missing from my cameras?

silverstax yes thats for setup all channel to motion detection with settings limitation. But this way you can adjust it manually for each channel.

Наверно с топовыми моделями это работает. Возьмите DS-I200 и попробуйте настроить, например с 7616 NVR. Регистратор даже не позволяет включить расширенный режим детектора движения в камере, а если расширенный режим включить принудительно через web интерфейс камеры, все равно он не будет работать. А если убрать галочку human detection, детектор движения вообще перестанет работать. Чувствительность регулируется скачками по 20 единиц! Похоже, hikvision сами никогда не тестируют свое оборудование. Базовый функционал нерабочий!

My V40. Hikvision NVR... it's a nightmare to try and back up video clips, because the ignorant 'no spikka d'anglish' Chinese are using the words 'import/export' to back up video clips, making it really confusing and annoying, taking more time to do so that an instant back up like the Dahua V4.0 NVR. Why did they make it so complicated, I'd be damned if I knew. I have both Hikvision V4.0 and Dahua V4.0 over a year now and the only thing that I am still struggling to do is the back up of video clips on the Hikvision because of complication and BS not found in the more user friendly Dahua V4.0. Comparing the two devices, I was able to learn how to back up a video clip of an accident in front of my home for the police to investigate because someone died 3 months since I installed the devices on my home, outside of my garage wall, with Dahua overlooking east of the property and Hikvision monitoring west of the property. Both cameras are 4K. I stopped buying Hikvision cameras because it was banned in my Country, while Dahua was still being sold, so I bought an extra 4 cameras for the rest of the property. Although, Hikvision system was playing up so much and being impossible to correct, freezing and shooting images, lagging and so on, especially those darned Illegal logins, while Dahua had it's own shares of faults, e.g. floating video, jerking frames, lagging, freezing images, smearing screen, vanishing images that disappear off the screen, etc., that I have been able to correct over time. Like I said, a little more user-friendly than Hikvision with virtually no illegal logins and false alarm, and Dahua has more lines that you can contour the areas for Tripwire and Intrusion corners. After a year of trial and error, Dahua beat Hikvision in monitoring performance, yet it still has its own demons when it comes to running a smooth video. As such, both brands have 4K cameras with Dahua using 4K/25MP dome cameras and the rest are 4K/8MP bullets cameras, while Hikvision only camera is 4K/12MP. Both system have crystal clear video, but these cameras do get a lot of water spray on days of nasty wind and rain, blocking the visibility and clarity with what you describe it as hundred and thousands of droplets and also foggy nights showing up like it is snowing outside. Their IR lights attracts moths and in turn it attracts spiders who start to lay webs around the camera, resulting in webs moving from the wind and tripping the Motion detection, causing the alarm to trip, unless urgent action is taken and clean the camera dome with a woolly duster, etc. The care and patience I had to continue doing to make sure these systems work without false alarm really has exhausted me. I turned off all the IR lights inside the cameras and added separate IR spotlights away from the cameras (about 2 metres away) so that the insects are steered away from the cameras. In turn, spiders also changed their attitude on webbing and the problem is no longer that bad. The IR spotlights are somewhat expensive, but the light they emit is so good that the range (being about 70 metres) lights up the entire area like greyed daylight. What I am not happy about Hikvision is that to make a copy of the accident on that day, neither the cops could do it and i was so embarrassed that I had decided to get rid of the rubbish and, lucky I had Dahua with one camera pointing in the same direction that I then allowed them to use it to back up a copy of the recorded video. Even they admitted that Hikvision is quite hard to make a copy because they use words like import/Export instead of 'Back-up'. Over time, since that accident, I had already planned to get rid of Hikvision, but decided to give myself another chance and see if I can be able to make a copy of some other clips for myself. To this day, I still haven't been able to do it. And so, I should also add the number of time I sought support from other KZbin channels. Some never responded, of course, partly because they don't know or couldn't be bothered giving information away. But the actual Hikvision Support in China, called Online Service, was also very difficult to understand because of the English language they use and the instructions you get is not live. It's all questions and answers, you type the question and you get fixed answers that are more frustrating to understand. While customers are still buying these garbage, little they know that they are hard to set, hard to get support form the actual companies and should not get help from KZbin channels of agents and sellers because they are not giving you free advice unless you subscribe. Hikvision, as well as Dahua and other brands, do not give you a comprehensive instruction booklet with the package that you bought or an online detailed instructions with a video showing a step by step instructions, etc. So, you're left with a piece of garbage and not be able to program it properly because of the lack of instructions. And this is why you're on KZbin, trying to get help from these sellers/agents. In comparison to these two brands, I would recommend Dahua more than Hikvision if you are concerned about latest privacy scandal. Since you already have a Hikvision (don't know what version you have), there is also a problem with its Mobile App, HikConnect. This App is slower to show you a video clip than Dahua when preparing to load the clip of a triggered event, but easier to view the clip once loaded. With Dahua, the App opens quicker but takes a long time to load the actual clip and in my case, some events aren't shown at all after it tries to download from a particular camera. In Dahua App, this hit and miss is quite often. It may not be able to open the video clip but if you get off and return to open again, it opens. As strange as I am surprised about this behaviour, I can't seem to fix this hit and miss. In HikConnect App being triggered by the NVR Illegal logins, I had to find out how to get rid of these Illegal logins and by going into the actual Hikvision V4.0 GUI and there it is where the bich was sending false Illegal logins. The Illegal logins were not real, like they claimed that some spies were trying to hack into you NVR, but electrical pulses escaping from the surges that you get from the home electrical signals, e.g. switching a vacuum cleaner, turning on the TV or even an electric fan near you on a hot day in front of the PC, etc. If you have that annoying Illegal login coming into your mobile App and sends such notifications, let me know because I need to know what system/version NVR/DVR you have and what Mobile you have. If not, I don't care. I fixed mine and I no longer get false Illegal logins. Good luck. 🙂
