After installing the asio driver it dont show me 32 tracks. I only get the option of 8. and I cant get and sound output after any setup I try.

@@hookersterminaltackle if you followed all the steps in the video there's shouldn't be a problem. Try without th asio, select the native driver in your pc and if it still doesn't work maybe there's a problem with your computer, try to go to a local repair shop

@@danielkharrat tried with the asio driver and the factory x32 driver's. Multiple settings and still no audio. I have signal to the mixer but can't get output. Even tried to get output from the headphone jack and the main out and the line outs. Nothing. Any idea?

@@hookersterminaltackle do you get any sound if you plug in a microphone? Have you tried resetting the mixer to the factory default? You're saying there is signal in the mixer but there's no sound, in that case the only thing i could think of is that it could be a hardware problem but you'll need a technician for that

@@danielkharrat so finally got it working but only output is the headphone jack when hitting the solo button on the front of the x32 rack. So I'm assuming it's a routing issue?

Do you use x live, and Waves supperrack performer? I would love to see how you would do a virtual sound check to be able to adjust your plugins. The best I have come up with is to use reaper, make the wanted adjustments in superrack, then save as preset, and when you go back to live just add the presets to your racks. Would love to see your fix for this. Thanks

I would like to know the routing using Reaper for record mode as follows. Record X# multi-tracks into DAW, monitor the 2 track master during the tracking phase. Also for play mode for "in the box" mixing 2 track master to studio monitors. Thanks in advance!

Great video! What's the reason from deselecting the line of master outputs on the far left of the matrix?

You just need to send the tracks to the console because you're mixing and listening through it. There's no need for the tracks to go to the master output in the project file, unless you want each track to have 2 different outputs at the same time then you can keep them

Perfectly explained! I followed your tutorial step by step. However, I am using a macbook, I have my audio device set to x-usb and not getting any signal in the track. A friend of mine followed the exact same steps and it works on his computer. Does anyone have the same problem or any ideas what could have gone wrong on mine? Thanks a lot!

I don't have a mac to tell you the exact steps but just plug your m32 into your computer with a usb cable and launch logic and there's a high chance that it will recognize it immediately without doing anything. You can check the input or output of a track to see if any in/out from the console appears. If it doesn't connect automatically you're gonna need to set it up with logic like any other normal audio interface

The m32 just allows basic controls like riding faders, solo, mute, play, pause, fast forward, rewind, record... but it cannot control plug-ins such as eq, compression...

You can either turn down the tracks in reaper or turn down the input trim on your console for the channel that are getting tracks

@@ReddenDoom you said you don't have the console so I'm assuming you're gonna use the app to make the changes. You can do that but you can't run audio on it because it's just a control app, the sound card that's responsible for running the audio is in the console itself. No processing happens in the app. And if you're talking about the daw, you need to be physically connected to the console to do the routing otherwise the channels won't show up because the console isn't connected

You can only record 32 channels of audio in total so if you want to record the 6 aux ins you're gonna have to give up on recording 6 xlr inputs Go to the routing menu -> card -> assign outputs 25-32 to aux ins instead of local 25-32 Now if you don't want to give up any of the xlr inputs you can record 1 extra stereo signal or 2 mono signals other than the 32 with the help of the usb recorder but it will be recorded separately Click view on the usb recorder and go to the config page You can assign the source of the Left and Right inputs of the recorder separately And that way you can record 2 aux ins other than the 32 xlr but they get recorded on the usb stick not in reaper

The buzzing might because of a bad cable, even the usb cable if it's bad it can make noise and dropouts. If some inputs are not showing try to reset/initialize the console and check again

Question: On my x32 rack, all the input gain levels are fine. When Reaper records it, the gain drops. Reaper sees it and records it but should be much stronger. I can't figure out from where I need to look to adjust the gain signal either going to Reaper or inside of Reaper. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks!

Reaper is recording the signal after the pre amp gain so the levels should be the same But in case you have healthy (not too quiet) input levels on your console and its still too week in reaper here's what you can do Options > Preferences > Media > Media item buttons Turn on "volume knob" > apply > okay You'll see a knob on the top left of the recorded clip If you turn this knob it will digitally change the gain of the recorded clip

No, the already saved scene does not get changed unless you overwrite it by saving over it. If you don't save the changes you're making, they will stay in the mixer even if you turn it off and back on but if you load a different scene they will get lost

It's the same exact process i explained in this video but the sound card would be called MG-XU instead of DN32 and it only has 2 in and 2 out

@@drummerkanhu yes that's because the interface that is built into the mgxu only has 2in/2out even if the mixer itself has more channels. That's how the manufacturer decided to make it. So you would have to mix the drums on the mixer itself and then only record a stereo mix of the drums, you won't have 10 separate tracks

It should should up automatically in the asio control panel if it's plugged in. Does your computer recognize that a usb device is plugged in?

If you have a digital mixer it should already have a sound card in it. If not, you would have to get a sound card that has the number of inputs and outputs you need

If you have an X/M32 and are only using 16 channels, you can route 1-16 locally or on AES (if thats what you’re using), and then have inputs 17-32 be routed on the Card’s. That way, you dont have to manually press to switch between recording and playing! 1-16 to record, 17-32 to playback!

Sure you can do that but then the input monitoring of tracks 1-16 will be played through channels 17-32 while the recording is happening. So if you decide to do that you should remember to mute these channels while recording. So i would highly recommend to stick to the method shown in the video

@@danielkharrat totally forgot to mention on the original comment lol. Essentially have duplicates of channels. What I do for my drum recordings is record, then mix off the 17-32 channels for my videos. That way I have my own IEM mix without affecting the final mix, while also having different EQ’s since doing drum EQ’s off of IEM’s are going to sound differently than Studio Monitors

This is kind of misleading because it only works if you have a 1:1 patch. In other words, if your channel 1 is patched to local 08, reaper is getting signal from local 01. So you have to spend a lot of tine f-ing around with the routing matrix in Reaper or you have to redo all your routing for a 1:1 patch, which is ridiculous. The board should be smart enough to give Reaper the user-specified patch, not just a 1:1.
