@@TradeBrigade Matt when I build the market profile for ES, the last profile comes all the way down to the bottom of the screen, especially if it is a down day, especially when I go to the right side of the chart to stretch the chart so I see the TPO's better. In fact if it is a big down day like today, stretching the chart make todays disappear, because it goes so far down bellow the screen. Is there a remedy for it? By stretching the chart I am referring to the Auto or manual control for the chart's dimensions.

What range do you like for the settings on NQ? Also, you mentioned that you like to change it with current volatility, how do you measure that or go about monitoring that for changing? Great video bud! 🔥👏🏼

Thanks Meta, /NQ at about a point these days (1.0) row hight works well. Its such an "expensive" product that thatll do, no one trades for 2 ticks in the /NQ. Really its a feel thing, when to adjust it higher / lower. If /NQ was trading at 25k perhaps its a 1.25 or 1.5. Just something where we get the gist of the move without having it so tall.

Finally built the Market Profile in TOS, Very easy to setup. have you changed the automatic sizing from 2.50? You mentioned you were testing it out.

I dont use it enough to check back in. With Tradovate I haven't looked back to Monkey bars. You basically just want enough clarity of price action to see where mechanical levels are being produced. 2.5 might be too aggressive these days now that VIX is settled in.

Very clear setup guide! One point I don't get - what is the relation between "Monkey Bars" (first part) and "Volume Profile" (2nd part). They are basically the same thing, or? Why not just set one? I am aware that "Monkey Bars" give a better explanation how A, B, C etc. forms. But once you know that seems no point, or?

Thanks for the Great tutorials Matt. One question, how do I save the Vol Profile. When I saved it under Styles it over road onto my default chart and when I took it off it disappeared on both the default AND the saved VP style which means I would have to go back and make all the changes whenever I wanted to use it? I managed to save it as Default but it did not keep it when I reload the Study.

Hmm... So when you save the style save it with a different name, then whenever you load the style it should come over. Do not use save as default. That will result in odd behaviour on standard app loads.

Feels like there should be a way to set the profile to align on the right side of the chart. Also, wish there was a way to make the profile adjust depending on what data is actively visible on the chart (not just over the whole timeframe of the chart).

This expose of this feature, The Market Profile, is an absolute revalation even in just the explanation of the sideways bars which were a complete mystery to me. It never fails to be a delightful discovery what is possible in Think or Swim. If I had any ideas of going over to Webull those thoughts are now dashed to the rocks or at least over the sideways volume indicator that has a rake to it you could not imagine on a backscratcher. I would remain a retard without this kind of great video. Thankyou so much.

What am I missing? I tried to use this on SPY and on an individual stock and it is coming in a bit funky with very large areas (bands) of volume.

On the SPY youll need to adjust your row size to something like .1 or .25. Remember that it is 1/10th the size of /ES

Just set your chart to the daily time frame and change the time per profile to weekly!

I noticed when you change the row height between a custom size vs tick size, poor highs and lows and single prints do not match up. I'm assuming tick size shows the correct prints.

Tick size will show the smallest tick increment, so in /ES futures it would be .25 and in the SPY it would be .01. The idea is that its "reasonable" and not so much a hard definition of splitting hairs in the case of the SPY increment at .01. This is the gray area of trading as opposed to the black and white yes and no.
