How to setup Midi Controls in FL studio and the Alesis Vortex Wireless 2

This is exactly what I needed to know, if the Vortex works in FL Studio, since I'm a long-time FL user and I just can't switch to a different DAW, I'm already used to FL. I plan to buy the keytar so I don't have to carry a whole synth with me to the PC.

Also, I did a little testing and found out, that I can plug multiple keyboards to FL Studio and control different instruments with them. Which is great and I can use both Vortex and my two other synths.

I'm having a major problem. When I program P5-P8 (so similar to how I program things on my Novation), the channels are only unmuted while I hold down P5, for example. All my pads are lit up blue and yours are off when they are muted. I have followed all of your steps from the Preset Editor to the toggle switch. I've made sure whatever is lit on your FL is lit on mine, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Thanks, and sorry if I am missing some small detail. I get sound when I unmute manually in FL, but not when I touch the pads that I programmed.

So, apparently part of my problem was the dongle. With the USB cable, it works. Go figure!

KellySharpeMusic Hi, Normally if the usb cable works but the dongle is giving problems I would suggest new batteries, electrical interference, a software conflict or a usb port conflict but if it only affects four pads then that is very strange indeed.

Alexis Riveros Hi, thanks for your question. Yes, the Vortex is Stable, I do not have any hanging notes.... but there are some things you must do: Make sure you use fully charged quality batteries for each gig. Do not change between upper and lower zones if you have any keys pressed down (notes playing). Make sure the Vortex is close enough to the Wireless Dongle for the wireless signal to work reliably. Make sure no equipment on stage or at the venue will interfere with the Vortex wireless signal (band mates with wireless equipment, dirty electrics, etc). Make sure no obstacles will block the wireless signal (that includes your body and any band mates moving around the stage). Most of these are standard issues with any wireless equipment. Also note, as with any wireless equipment, the further the Vortex is from the Wireless Dongle the longer the signal takes to make the journey.

@@IbandUK hey buddy I’m glad I was able to see this comment about a live setting have u tryed it wired. I was thinking of having it wired due to the battery issue. But will it still work at 100% or should I get batteries either way
