Nice video! Have you ever used any of the web server stress test tools to determine\test NLB working functionality?

I haven't used this in production for a while, but I did have monitoring setup that checked the loads of all the servers in the clusters. Thanks for watching!

Hello Danny, Thanks for video, can you please tell me why after shutting one one node in the cluster, i am still pointing towards the site1, even on clients after deleting history yet whenever i try to refresh i am pointed out to site 1 which should be site 2 as i shut down site 1? what possibly be the reasons ? Thanks

Sounds like a configuration issue somewhere. It's hard to say what the issue might be without being able to see it, unfortunately. Thanks for watching!

What should be an ideal setup for server. Like shoudl we have just a normal public facing server as first server and then the IIS server as 2nd and 3rd server to blance the load ?
@danny_moran Жыл бұрын
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Unfortunately, without knowing more about the network and environment, it's hard to suggest recommendations. Thanks for watching!

Do you then go into your router and instead of pointing to the host IP, point it to the cluster IP, or does NLS take care of that for you?
@danny_moran Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean about the router part? Usually, once you setup NLB, just point everything to the NLB IP rather than the IP of any of the nodes. Thanks for watching!

Can this be applied to print servers or if this strictly for web severs? I'm trying to figure out if a load balancer is applicable to networked shared printers without having to use third party software.

This is an interesting use case that I haven't come across before. Apparently, NLB is not supported for this use case: techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/ask-the-performance-team/windows-printing-and-network-load-balancing/ba-p/373364 I don't even think the Windows Print Service/Role is supported anymore for this. A quick internet search suggests that there aren't any native Windows solutions for HA printing so you will likely have to look into 3rd party solutions. Thanks for watching!

I have planned some guides for monitoring Windows Server, however, I haven't gotten around to creating them yet. Thanks for watching!

Are both of the hosts on the same network and able to communicate with each other? Sounds like there is a networking issues between the hosts.

This is really good but try explaining a little more and you will be a golden reference by me to anyone. I get it, but a n00b won't.
