Ah, my hero. I changed routers and worked for three days trying to set up my existing 6580. NOTHING worked. The part of your video that helped me was the left number settings. For some reason I could not read "39," no matter what I did. I did not think it was prudent for a user to mess with those numbers but I saw you reach "90" as a complete reset and decided to try that. IT WORKED. I am set up now. Much thanks. Honeywell was no help...John

Man, I been messing with my thermostat for 2 weeks. Temperature been holding at 74 all day then around 4 pm it starts to climb to 79-80 then at some point after 9 pm it drops to 74 again. When we wake up it’s 74 and the cycle begins again. Your instruction clearly explains what I need to be looking at. Thank you.

You might think you can fix it but just call someone they can fix that or find the issue for you there is a lot more to it. I do hvac btw🙂

I have the same thermostat works for heat and not air will turn on fan when I turn central air on so wondering what I have done wrong? I have a 2 stage variable speed furnace and a 16 seer 2 ton Frigidaire central air unit. Any ideas on how to help. By the way you should do all the videos for Honeywell this was awesome

This is a great video, but what is the issue when you have just installed this thermostat, the screen came up briefly and then disappeared. I have removed the thermostat from the back plate several times... each time the green screen comes up and says wait... but then it dies again, and is not responsive. My house is way to warm, and I cannot turn the heater down or off. Does that sound like a wiring issue? Hope you can respond tonight. But if not, please respond when you can.

Buyer beware, Honeywell thermostats keep your house within 1 degree temperature, they don't advertise it in any way I have found, that causes your heater and ac to cycle a lot, when it turns on, not only does it use more energy then when it's already running, it puts much more wear on your pump and motor, I had to talk to one of their techs to find this out! All these people spending all this time to find out it's factory like that. I loved it other than that!

Can I set an alert (email or text) for the thermostat to tell me when it's above or below a certain temperature in the house? That's the main reason I bought this but I don't see that capability. Seems pretty basic. If not, what stats will do this as I need it to monitor remotely?
