I've watched a lot of videos ever since i got the ZV-1 (about 8 months ago), but i still didn't understand this camera as much. This right here is the best ZV-1 video I've ever watched. I found myself doing a lot of playing, pausing and rewinding 😂with the purpose of aligning my camera settings to yours. At some point i paused this video and went to watch another video on your channel (Sony ZV 1 s-sinetone) and came back to resume this one. I learned so much within a short space of time, and because of you, i value my camera more than i ever did before....You really are making some positive impact...watching from South Africa ✌

Just wanted to say thank you. What a great detailed video that moved fast and didn't apologise for asking me to pause and check my own camera along the way. I've been using an A6400 for work videos for 18 months and just got the ZV-1 for my own business. I feel like the ZV-1 does everything the A6400 does for me and now thanks to you, I can hopefully prove myself right.

I got 3 of these Sony ZV-1 cameras to include in remote interview kits I can send to clients that I’d otherwise do in person (pre-COVID). Even with a pre-setup, I’m concerned about the camera getting out of whack. The Sony menus are supremely confusing with various settings all over the place. Hard to imagine picking up this camera as a neophyte and attempting figuring it out. The custom settings mode may be the best way to get back to the pre-set. This was a really good but tight overview I’ll reference many times.

Thanks for the guide! One remark though: For slow motion, you set the fps to 120 and the shutter speed to 1/250s. Since you are slowing it down in post to 24fps, I would set the shutter speed to the maximum of 1/125s shutter speed for smoother motion blur. That´s because, the double shutter speed should still be 1/50s, because of the used 24fps in post. As of course your maximum shutter speed is not 1/50s at 120fps while shooting, but 1/125s, this is the next best thing.
@thefilmalliance
@thefilmalliance 4 жыл бұрын
This is great information. So when Im shooting in 120 change the shutter to 1/125 if Im using a 24 FPS timeline. This is why I love this community. Someone has valuable information and they pass it along rather than keep it to themselves. We appreciate your willingness to share. I look forward to using this method on my next slowmo (If I can remember). Awesome comment! Thank you

This is exactly what I needed to find tonight, thank you both!! I’m also having trouble filming my vlogs because I want to use intelligent auto filming in 24fps because I shoot a lot of gym videos with incredibly unreliable lighting but in iAuto it changes my frame rate on its own. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Adam

That was hugely helpful. Especially for setting the custom buttons! The only thing is you were showing that you set HFR in your functions menu but I don't think that let's you toggle to HFR mode. You still have to hit mode first and go to HFR mode. Def correct me if I'm wrong!

Brilliant observation! You are correct. Thank you fro taking the time to comment that! Hugely helpful to the community. The HFR settings if the function menu are only set to HFR FPS setting. You do still have to access HFR through the HFR mode. You are very observant great work! I would still leave the HFR setting within the function menu so you can quickly toggle between the high frame rate options while you are in the HFR mode. Thanks again

That’s not covered in this video but you can use shutter priority to achieve that

@Laurent Marichal If you are asking how to setup exposure lock to a button while using shutter priority. Step 1 - get into shutter priority: 1. hit mode button, select the movie icon 2. a menu comes up, choose shutter priority Step 2 - assigning a button to AEL 1. choose custom key from the menu 2. choose a button (c2 for me) 3. assign AEL Toggle Now when you press the assigned button, you'll see a star at the bottom right of the screen, that means your exposure is locked.

@pottermade do you know if there is anyway to save the interval shooting functions? everytime i go back to my MR mode, I have to turn interval on, move to 5 second intervals and then up the photo count to say 9000 so it will timelapse indefinitly. Anyway to save these features?
@thefilmalliance
@thefilmalliance 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there, Im not sure about that, If you find out please let me know. Are you changing out the battery when it happens?
@kyushalimit5931
@kyushalimit5931 3 жыл бұрын
@@thefilmalliance No doesnt seem to matter if I change battery or power off, but as soon as I leave MR mode and go to say Video Auto or something and come back then it resets them, If I stay in that MR mode it stays on correct settings.
