Good news is, there is plenty of room on YT for multiple videos on suspension! I noticed, you are in Granite Bay? Are there a lot of nice trails out that way?

@shootthechit I have the Ultra now (used to have the light bee) but I haven't ridden it around the lake on the trails as I don't want to cause trouble or get any rangers involved, but there are definitely some other open areas that you can ride without issues. I sold my truck, so I haven't been able to take it out as much lately, but I'm working on that now!

As usual you produce great Wire ebike content. Thank's for the tip about the suspension settings. When I'd ordered my Wired Freedom I really wanted the orange color, but I was told by the owner that I would have to wait until February for delivery, I didn't have the patience to wait that long, so I got the royal blue or NEW York Giant's blue. Again, thanks for the tip. Also, What's the best programming to get that 30 miles range without burning out the battery quickly?

I think you can get 30 miles with any setting really as long as you don't hammer the throttle the entire time or say in PAS 5.

I go back and forth between being dead set on dropping $2,000 on a new wired freedom e-bike, and wanting an aventon abound cargo e-bike that my daughter can ride on the back all the time. Other times I'm desperately wanting a moped style ebike. The more research I do, the more I'm quite positive that the wired freedom is a no-brainer, simply because of its ability to move me at higher speeds than I had ever expected was possible before. Hell, I have no idea what to do. I would like to have more information about the beautiful bikes that the electric bike company has to offer also. Just in terms of appearance alone, I personally see no competition that can come anywhere close to the eye candy that that company manufacturers. I guess I'll never get everything I want in a bike, so I'd better be willing to compromise no matter which route I take, or..... I'd better get my ass to work. And come up with enough money to afford 2 or three different variants.

Since you have ridden both the Wired Freedom & the Wired Cruiser which do YOU prefer? I am 66 & in good shape. I feel like the cruiser would a be better choice due to the ease of mounting a larger size bike. I am concerned that the cruiser step thru design is not as stable at the higher speeds (30-35). I may be wrong on this aspect. I love the design of the Freedom & its rear suspension. I typically carry a bag on the back rack which can make getting on & off a large bike a bit more challenging. However, if the the overall experience riding the Freedom is more exhilarating, then the Freedom might be for me. Your thoughts.

@shootthechit10 ай бұрын
You can go as fast as you want to pedal. The way Wired does their PAS is it gives you a set amount of assist per level. On PAS 1 it will cruise around 12 with regular pedaling if you aren't trying to go fast

The forks make a metallic rattle sound when you rode off the curb like something is lose. Might be part of your pulling issue. Or is that normal?
@shootthechit9 ай бұрын
It's the fender rattling. The pulling issue has since been resolved by replacing the front fork.
@addertooth110 ай бұрын
The phrase you were looking for the rear shock is "critically damped". It means the shock compresses and recovers from being compressed without overshoot when it returns to the original position. Racing cars make use of "suspension dynos" which give real-time digital graphing to get them dialed in. When recovery is too slow during rebound, you are sacrificing range to absorb a secondary bump after an initial bump. And yes, on a bike it is done by "seat of the pants" feeling. The butt is smart and knows when it is all coming together in the best way. I have dome irregular (large/irregular) cobblestones in my area which is ridden over to confirm the settings on my suspension (different eBike which also have a cantilevered rear suspension with a 2 to 1 lever ratio). The bike is mostly used on the streets, so its initial compress percentage is set to about 18%.
@shootthechit10 ай бұрын
Critically damped sounds so much cooler than what I was saying lol. With this shock so far it's been finding a balance with sag that also won't bottom out too easy. Don't think there is volume spacers available but all and all this shock has exceeded expectations for a "cheap shock"

Levo is great for single track and real trail riding, it also can climb ridiculous steep terrain. The Freedom is better for all around riding, but its much heavier and bigger. The bell has a few scratches and its missing the “dinger” hammer, however, it’s otherwise in good shape. If you strike it with a metal fork or spoon, it makes enough noise where people on a bike path will most likely move out of your way. Thank you for reaching out.
