This videos covers a quick look at how to setup your Custom User Outputs to get you a mirrored copy of your Main House Mix into your Streaming Software. Most people are using OBS, Wirecast, or VMix which by default takes Ouput 1 & 2 from your USB input. Normally, this is your first two input channels, but you can use the Custom User settings to have a copy of your main output go to User Out 1& 2 and then route those to your USB Card.

I personally would not set this up this way. Does it work, yes. But you have no separate control over it. You should just send your LR bus to a stereo linked pair of Matrices and send that to your PC. That way you still have a mirrored LR mix but you have a separate volume control that’s separate from your FOH mix. You can also add Dynamics and EQ for that send also. 😁

@jasonlight1670
@jasonlight1670 Жыл бұрын
@@initialdluvr No. busses are a custom mix usually. They can be setup to be subgroups, pre/post fade mixes, etc.. you can add specific channels to them at specific levels and add dynamics other effects to it. Separate from the LR mix. A matrix is a copy of either the LR mix or if an already built mix bus. You can not specifically assign a channel to a matrix like you can a bus mix.

I think my church has ours setup as bus. I think it also sends out thru an aux out if I'm correct. Is this a decent way to send a mix over to our live stream? Also our live stream is all over the place some days. I still can't find a way to get the instruments and vocals not to clash. We just have accoustic guitar, digital piano, and bass going. Usually 2 males vocalist and 1 female. But they seem to always be louder than one another. Any clues. We us ecamm live to broadcast and a behringer audio interface..

If you have the need for a console like a X-32 or M-32 then your sound system is likely a lot more sophisticated than a simple P.A. audio feed. What sounds right in your auditorium can sound horrible to someone watching from home. You need to create a separate mix for your stream and if possible have a separate sound person monitoring and adjusting that mix, we used a pair of Bus Mixes for ours. The second sound person can use a tablet or PC with the X32-Edit software to control the Streaming mix, that incidentally gives you a way to train up additional sound people as they can start smaller by just working the mix for the stream before learning the rest of the board.

Finally!!!!... I have been scouring the internet for this. I even called the guys at Behringer and they couldn't help. I found a work around by using an mbox firewire device on my PC and running it from a stereo bus. Quick question? I want to keep the broadcast mix separate from the Main mix, can I use the same technique but using the Bus or Matrix channels as the output instead of the Main LR mix? Thanks again.

Hello Dave. I'm using the x32 compact at my church. After setting up the routing for USB streaming, I noticed that all mic volumes on the stream are perfect, BUT the combined music and instrument sounds are blurry or 'suppressed' so to speak. What could be the cause? Thanks
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Жыл бұрын
This specific setup takes the main mix and my assumption is that you have the instruments turned down in the house since they produce natural volume in the room. The more preferred route is to use a Post Fader MixBUS setup so you have the ability to modify the general settings (mix) for your stream. Here are two videos to help you along your journey. 1) MixBUS Stream routing across USB - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKmXeZ13p7mYkKs 2) Refine your Live stream Mix - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLs

@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 жыл бұрын
It is possible to do this, but you have to setup your stream on BUS 1/2 (or 9/10) since the older firmware makes changes in batches of 8. The upgrade to the new firmware is an easy process and you can keep all of your current settings. Do make sure to SAVE your scene before doing the update, but it will give you more flexibility.

You need to make sure you have the X-USB driver (Windows) and then you will have to change some settings in your stream software to me sure the audio driver is selected. In OBS you then have to add an audio input to your scene and select the X32 input from a drop down menu. You are on VMix which should be similar, but I’ve never used it personally.

I don't know if i am supposed to keep those unmuted but when i do mute/ unmute it doesnt change it. The only sound that does come through the X32 CARD is channels input 15=16 that are from my TV. I can mute them, or lower the faders but that doesnt change the same sound continuing to come out of the X32 Card. The only way to change the volume of the sound coming through the card on that channel is to lower the Preamp dial. Other then that, all my other IN's/ are not coming through the X32 Card, such as the Mac on my other two AUX in's & other instruments plugged into the mixer. What am I missing? If you need to get audio into the console from a computer it will usually come across USB in 1/2. This can be routed to AUX In faders or to the other standard channels if desired. You will need to use the Routing > User In settings to build some custom mapping or on the Routing > Input screen you can use the AUX In remap for a quick check. The talkback mic is either routed to your broadcast mix or your house and you just can't hear it in the room (depending on how your setup is designed). 1) Are you using the talkback input on the back of the console or a different input and treating it as a talkback mic? 2) What signal are you sending to OBS? A copy of your house mix like this video explains or are you sending a MixBUS setup?

The scenes have "Scene Safes" that allow the specific item selected (or deselected in this situation) to not be overwritten or changed by a scene change. Go to your scenes and look on the right side to see if anything is not selected in the scene safes area. I do recommend looking at enhancing your stream mix by setting up a Post Fader MixBUS setup. Yes. Using the library is the easiest way to get this done. In your example I would select channel 13, click library next to the screen, scroll to the very bottom (around 90-99) and click the save button. You can enter a name and then all the settings for channel 13 will be saved in this slot. Now you can select channel 8, click library, scroll to the saved settings and click the load button. This will load the settings to that channel.

This response has a few different parts included as well as some assumptions I am making. I am assuming your console is being used to support an in-person experience as well as a live stream experience. I am also assuming that ProPresenter will be the final hardware unit that sends your mix out to the internet for livestream. With these things covered, Here are the things you need to know. As always, if you need one-on-one help, you can fill out the contact card on my website at Sound.AllamHouse.com. 1) Build a MixBUS mix for your Livestream. Having a second mix for people that are not in your room is a much better experience for your live stream listeners. This video here walks through the setup on the console. I still use this in my weekly church services for our livestream. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3uufIaEltqXjtU 2) Send Your Mix to the ATEM Once you have built your mix, you want to send your mix to the ATEM Mini. This video walks through the three ways to get your mix out of the console. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnjXYq1rfpyVorM 3) Send Your Stream to ProPresenter Once you have everything built in the console and the ATEM you want to connect your ATEM to your ProPresenter machine. Go into Preferences > Inputs and you can select the Blackmagic device as a Video Input. You can also make an Audio Input and select the Blackmagic device there. Once in ProPresenter you can follow their normal steps to get the stream out to your virtual locations.

This is a classic case of having your amp(s) volume too high for the speakers in your room causing you to have low gain structure on each input. I will link two videos below to help point you in the right direction. 1) Gain Structure - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4PNgWZ_gKuZp68 This video discusses setting proper gain structure for each input and then using the main fader as your overall volume adjustment until you can properly set the volumes of your speakers in the room. 2) Two Mixes - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLs The current method (the video you commented on) is a great quick fix for getting audio to a stream, you really want to create two separate mixes... one for your house and one for your stream. The linked video is the best way to craft those mixes and manage them with only one sound tech.

This is a very general (bare bones) way to get a mix from the console into your stream. I have other videos that offer direction on a much more refined setup, but let me answer your questions. The board moves does have very minimal latency and will get to your camera or streaming device in time with your video. Depending on your gear you may have to add a delay on the audio to have it match all of your cameras (ie: my audio is delayed by 300ms to be in between my different cameras...done at my streaming machine). You will want to change your console to run at 48kHz to match your camera sample rate.

The easiest way to just record is to put a thumb drive in the top area next to the screen. Hit the view button for the USB and you will get a record screen that appears. You can use the buttons (and arrows) to change what your source is that will be recorded. Then, hit the record button and when complete, hit the stop button. Wait for the little red light to go out next to the thumb drive and then you have a recorded WAV file.

Honestly, the best option is to just update to the newest firmware. Save your current scene before doing so and then do the update which takes about 2 min total. It is well worth the flexibility. This link goes through the Scene Save process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWHFoombq86Fgck Also, this video covered a very basic way of getting audio to a stream, it is not ideal for a long-term solution. The method I recommend is using a Post-Fader MixBUS setup which gives you the ability to customize the mix for your stream (if desired). This also gives you more flexibility if you do NOT upgrade software if you do this on MixBUS 1+2. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKmXeZ13p7mYkKs

It sounds like you are trying to send audio from your computer into the mixer… I’m assuming across USB. If this is the case then you need to… (1) adjust the sound on your computer to use X-USB as the audio card (2) setup user inputs that include USB 1/2 as inputs. (3) route those two channels to whatever faders you want them to appear on. This is more commonly used in a Zoom meeting environment where you want to have audio come back into the board across USB. I talk about that setup in this video here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXSUk5qkdtuApdk

Hello ,Thanks for the video. Can you plug in straight to a phone to stream?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 жыл бұрын
Ideally you would go with a USB connection into your device or send from the board into a camera or switching device. If you need to go directly into a phone people typically use an iRig converter. Keep in mind that these are designed to control the energy of a mic or maybe a guitar, but you will be sending a full range, mixed signal into it. If you push too much volume into these they will distort pretty quick.

I would start looking at your Sample Rate. Many times for audio only it would be 44.1khz, but for live stream (syncing with video) needs to be 48.0khz. Another possibility might be your audio clipping and peaking. If that is the case, you would want to put a limiter in place to control the audio output levels.

It does not, in fact the X32 (along with most other consoles) only offer the ability to EQ/Comp an input one time on their channel strip. Question…will this work for sending my logic mix to livestream and house?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Жыл бұрын
If you are running a live event, I would be cautious about sending a DAW mix to your live audience. Typically, the USB connection adds too much latency and in smaller venues it is very noticeable. This video here talks about sending your inputs to the DAW, building a mix and then sending that mix back to the console. This might be the route you try and see if it gets you close to your goals. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaG9oaaFlNFnh9U

what if I am not using 15-16 as my main L-R but instead I am using the monitor outs because I prefer the 1/4in cable connections in my main speakers. It doesn't seem to be the same process as the monitor L-R isn't an option in all the menus.
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 4 жыл бұрын
Monitor outs on the top right of the console (with a volume knob) have a much different functionality. If you want 1/4” outs you would be better served to go to Routing > AUX Out and select AUX Out 5&6 for your mains. Then connect your 1/4” outputs to the back of the console.

I have a question I use sling studio for my live stream and take my audio out from my x-32 to the streaming hub. The only way I can get stereo is from the headphone jack is there any other way to get a stereo out for live steam so I can send different mix to the live sound? Thank you
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 жыл бұрын
This. Idea will show you how to setup two different mixes with one sound tech. Once you have your mix setup on your paired Bus, then go to Routing>AUX out and route them out AUX out 5/6. This allows you to use a 1/4” to 1/8” TRS cable to connect from the back of the console into your Sling Studio. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLs

I’m glad you found this. Idea helpful. I will say that this is an okay option if you do not have people in your venue, but most people are mixing for both house and stream now. If that is the case you want to go a different route for your setup to allow for a mix for your house and a dedicated mix for your stream. This video walks through the routing of it kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKmXeZ13p7mYkKs This video walks through an advanced mix that you can build using this Post Fader MixBUS. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLs

Question about connection x32 to streaming PC... vMix.. I understand that it is with USB. We have a challenge with the distance x32 and the Streaming PC.. 8 Meters... Is it possible to use the LAN on the x32 in order to get the sound from Mixer to StreamPC / vMix???
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 жыл бұрын
While USB is a great option, you will be pushing the limits at 8 meters (25 feet). The two ways to do this well are (1) route your stream out some XLR outs on the back of the console, run XLRs to your computer and get a 2 channel audio interface to convert the signal to USB and into your computer. This is bot ideal, but you can get it done for about $150. (2) get a Dante card for your X32 and connect the x32 and computer to the same network to transfer the signals. This is the ideal scenario, but will come at a higher cost.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question and since there are so many possibilities, I'll ask you to ask it again but slightly rephrased. Are you asking about changing the actual sound coming out of the console? Are you referring to a computer program to send your live stream audio into and stream it (with video) out to the world?

I have my x32 routed the same way you have it here except that mine comes out the USB 2.0 on the back directly into a USB 3.0 input on a USB-C hub for my iPad Pro into Switcher Studio. My iPad accepts the x32 as audio input but also thinks that it should be the default output. This doesn't matter for internet livestreaming but it's a huge problem when I'm trying to broadcast over an HDMI hub as well. I've been told that it doesn't matter what the x32 says but I cannot find anything on the internet about my problem. Switcher Studio's audio output doesn't change regardless of whether i plug in the hdmi first or the USB audio from my sound board. I'm so confused...
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 жыл бұрын
This is a rather unique setup and I will start by saying I have never used Switcher Studio. I know it is a robust streaming platform, but I have not interacted with it in person. Usually, when you plug in the USB connection from the X-USB slot on the back of the console to a machine it will (by default) use USB 1/2 as an input from the console and then also have USB 1/2 as an output form the device back to the console. This would allow you to play audio across USB from the device back into the console. This is well and good in an isolated setup, but it sounds like you are now trying to take this entire setup of audio from the console, connecting to video in Switcher, and then send it out HDMI to other destinations. If this is all correct, I would start by looking in the physical settings of the device. When you plug an HDMI cable into a laptop the audio will default to go OUT across the HDMI cable... which is your desired situation. I believe there will be a "magical" combination of device I/O and Switcher I/O settings that can get you to the desired outcome. I wish I have more direction to offer, but again I have limited knowledge of Switcher.

Trying to figure out if I can use headphones on the soundboard so I can hear what is going out to the stream.
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 жыл бұрын
This setup just takes your main mix and sends it out USB 1/2 to go to your streaming device. To solo it in headphones you would just click the solo button over your main fader and it will be heard in your headphones. Note: By default the main mix is what is heard in the headphones if nothing has the solo button pushed. So really, you don’t need to push anything, but the solo button over the main fader might make you feel better to know you have the right thing in your headphones.

I don't understand what you are asking exactly. Did you get the soundboard routing handled? Did you connect the cable from the X-USB slot on the console to your computer? If on Windows, Have you downloaded the U-USB driver (not needed for MAC) Have you added the audio input source into OBS?

If you are on a Mac (personal) it will automatically recognize, but a Windows machine will need the X-USB driver downloaded and installed. You can find it at the Behringer website, search for X32 and then scroll down to the "Software" section on the right side. I am currently using the 4.59 version.

I’ve never used Audition, but there should be some KZbin material about that DAW. The driver you need for a Windows computer is the X-USB driver from the Behringer website. They continue to add new versions to keep up with Windows updates. This video here discusses the basics of multitrack recording. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYHVkpqQlN1qg7M

Can I use this USB output as an input for my iPhone 7 (using a Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter) and then use Facebook Livestream? Will the iPhone and Facebook recognize this external audio input?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 4 жыл бұрын
I have not tried this same setup so I can’t say for sure. Here are some things I do know: 1) Some people are using dongles to convert to USB-C and run into new iPads (or iPhones) to stream through Switcher Studio. You might check out some of the Switcher Studio videos to see how they are making it work. 2) It sounds like you are trying to use minimal equipment, but you can always run a laptop with OBS (free software) and stream to FB, YT or other platforms. We use this at my church and it works great. You would plug your phone into the laptop as a camera and then run the audio from the console through USB into the laptop.

Great video. We use an ATEM Mini and just upgraded our old console that was dying to an X32. I'm getting a crash course as the only 'IT' guy in church. We were going from a single 1/4 jack to a 1/8 jack to the ATEM. How could I mirror this setup with X32?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 жыл бұрын
Instead of routing the Stream output to USB 1&2, you can send it to AUX 1&2 (output) in the Routing>AUX section. Then, connect a 1/4” to 1/8” TRS cable and this will give you a stereo signal to connect to the ATEM.
