Hello Darlings, for this weeks video I modified the Simplicity pattern 8139 into a cute body hugging bathing suit! I hope you enjoy watching the whole process and make sure to let me know if you have made this pattern before or altered another swimsuit pattern!

I think this all the time! It is important to be confident in yourself, but confidence does not equal being scantily clad. So many of the swimsuits today are rather obscene, and make me feel uncomfortable to take my one year old swimming. I don’t want him to see near nudity every time we go to the pool or beach.

This is wonderful!! Just a few days ago I was remembering that very book when I sent a photo to a friend of a formal jersey dress my mother made and wore to the Academy Awards in the 1970s. (My dad was an accountant who counted the votes, but my mother looked like a movie star ⭐️).

So cute!! I once sewed a dress with a little bolero top when I was 11, for a sewing contest. The zipper gave me fits and have yet to make anything else!! So, I'm such a beginner I had no idea what a slip stitch is. I looked up and it's the type of stitch I've been trying to figure out how to do! I swear I've been looking at my professionally done dresses and been like, "How do they get all of the lining fabric done with invisible seams?" Now I know! Thanks for the hint!

I'm not sure if uv done other time periods, I'm a newer subscriber, but itd be fun to see u do fashions of the 20s,30s,and 40s,things changed so much during this period, due to the roaring 20s,into the depression, and then ww2. I've always fancied this type of swimsuit, but even it would be too much for me. I'm extremely uncomfortable showing off skin in public, so I guess, the only suitable option for me would be a Victorian swimsuit. Also, I love any polka dot fabric! It's just so... classic. And you look so pretty in it!

That looks so cute on you Sage. Just like my Mum's swimsuits in photos of her from the 1940s and 1950s. We live in Queensland and her family were always at the beach. You were very brave to go into the sea in Melbourne. I lived there for a few years. The Southern Ocean is so freezing even on the hottest day.

Thank you! The jersey becomes a little bit heavier in water as it is cotton but is easy to move in because it is flush against the body! And I made a point of lining the swimsuit so it wouldn't be see-through, and the lining worked well! xx
