This is a sign that I should crack open this pattern. I've had it in my possession for some time now. I was just too intimidated to finally sew it. Thank you so much for this tutorial! It's a great help for an advanced beginner.

Glad to hear you're thinking to give it a try. I had the pattern in my stash for quite a while, too, before sewing it up the first time. Lots of steps, but a nice outcome and very achievable! Happy sewing! 🧵

I finished my jacket today! Thank you so much for your clear and concise directions. I worked on it little by little and I am just so proud of the final result. This was the most intermediate project I've done and it's helped my sewing confidence so much. Thaaaaank yoooouuuu!!!

Thank you that was very helping, what sewing machine do you use if I may ask?
@Sew-Happy11 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment. For this project, I used a vintage Husqvarna Viking -- a workhorse!

is there an easier way to do the sleeve cuff to jacket lining part? i just can't understand it. would it work to just pull the sleeves through, turn the whole jacket inside out, and handstitch the lining to the ribbing?
@Sew-Happy6 ай бұрын
Sure that would work! 🎉

What amount of ease does this pattern give? Is it a close fitting jacket?
@Sew-Happy8 ай бұрын
It is a comfortable fitting jacket. I wouldn't say close fitting-- just the ribbed knit around bottom will hug your hips.

Do you have a substitute to dental floss?

Sure! Any thick thread or thin cording will do the trick! Perhaps crochet thread or thin twine.

My question is about pattern size: do I go by bust or hip/waist measurement. The pattern would be a size 12 if by ust, but 14 if by waist.
@Sew-Happy10 ай бұрын
It's a good question. I sewed a size 8, even though I am usually a size 10 for bottoms. After sewing it, I would probably advise to go with hip size, OR grade out at the hip if necessary.
