It's like the people commenting that she's not sewing fast enough don't know that you can speed videos up 😂Thank you! This was really helpful.

Ahh thank you so much for this video and actually showing what the stitch does in the end. I'm not good with sewing machines and my sister has asked me to make her some shorts with stretchy fabrics and I want to do well by her. This video just saved me! Thank you! So helpful!

This was very helpful! And awesome toturial. This helped me because of my project, 5 sewings of Catch, running,blanket,back and slip stitch. Thank you very much! This was well followed.

Thank you for the stretch test at the end - I was worried about how much stretch it would allow but it seems to be just fine for a trouser hem, I hope.

I searched multiple videos for the best stitch to use with knit fabric and finally I came across this tutorial which is actually able to be followed! The quality is clear, the teacher goes at the perfect speed- I can recreate it seamlessly (pun intended).

Do you have a video or any advice on how to hand sew seams in knit fabric, for those of us who don't have a sewing machine yet? I can't seem to find anything on the subject anywhere :(
@ProfessorPincushion6 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the type of seam you need to do. If the seam does not need to stretch, like a seam running down the length of the body, you can just do a small running stitch, just search for hand running stitch. If the seam needs to stretch, like a seam going around the body (necklines, hemlines, waistlines), then you can do a smaller version of this catch stitch. It just needs to have a zig zag formation because that will allow it to stretch while the straight stitch will not. Hope that helps! :)
@rabthecab6 жыл бұрын
Professor Pincushion Yes, that helps a great deal! Thank you :)

Will this prevent fraying ? Without the fold in hem?
@ProfessorPincushion4 жыл бұрын
You normally do the catch stitch on knit fabric, which doesn't really fray so you shouldn't have to worry about it.

This is not the real one catch stitch. This stitch called cross stitch for hem at the hem allowance. Catch stitch spouse to be inside the roll hemming. The thread hidden and only catch one or two the thread at the fabric on your hemming.
@JoyeuseXI8 жыл бұрын
+Auan Sali Not necessarily. Many people learn this as a catch stitch. Cross stitches look different and are generally not used for hems. Stitches inside the hem are blind stitches and slip stitches.
@arianagrande19547 жыл бұрын
They are exactly the same

it is NOT right to left in the video. It's left to right. It messed me up when I started on the R side of the garment, and then the stitches continued in the opposite direction.

catching is too hard,I like the machine blind stitch,so use the fold (fabric right side)to easily catch 😊

helped me too....but liked if it helped faster!!....too much talking....too slow sewing. I just can't seem to find a vid that gets right to the point!! Last one I seen the girl wouldn't put the camera close enough to see it...and this one...well...too much talk! Some of us can just watch the procedure and know what to do!
