That’s really pretty, you made it look so doable, that’s for sharing.

I’m new to sewing and this is obviously a more advanced finish that I hadn’t seen before. However, it’s beautiful and you explained it so that I could even understand it. Thank you and I look forward to learning more from your experience. Many thanks. Xx 💕💕

This was such a simple explanation of this complicated technique! I am a beginner sewist and was struggling to understand HK seams; your video was super helpful. On my way to subscribe!

Very well explained. Love the finished look. Question: are all the edges finished prior to construction if not how is the order of applying the binding to the edges done?

I like to apply the binding during construction - so I will usually sew a seam, bind both the raw edges of the seam I just sewed, then sew the next seam, finish those edges, and so on - that way if you have overlapping seams you already have the edges of the previous seam finished before it gets sewn into the next seam. I hope that makes sense!

would this be appropriate for a quilted jacket that is NOT lined? or do you think it would be too bulky? would a flat felled seam be better (I have a serger)

I think hong kong seams would look great on an unlined quilted jacket!

Very thorough and informative video! The pacing was too slow for me, so I increased viewing speed to 1.25. Thanks for the education!
