Thanks! I was looking for how to make a hood for my winter coat and jacket that don't have hoods. I might use snap-on buttons if I can hide them in the coat collar somewhere not visible when I'm wearing the coat/jacket without the hood. What would you use as filler if you're making an insulated hood? Quilt batting?
@StitchlessTV4 жыл бұрын
Yes...that would be the easiest option or buy a ready quilted lining. Tree

@@StitchlessTV Snap-on fasteners will be attached directly at the bottom of the hood. The other half of the fasteners will be attached to a grosgrain ribbon and then the ribbon will be handsewn on to a jacket (underside of the collar). What hand stitch would I use that's strong and looks nice? The ribbon wouldn't be visible at all with or without the hood attached but would be great if the stitches still look nice. Or does just attaching grosgrain ribbon to fabric with fabric glue work very well?

Great video!!! Doe anyone know where I can find a tutorial to do the same thing, but with a zipper instead of buttons???
@StitchlessTV Жыл бұрын
Thankyou. You will need an open ended zip to the length of the hood, and then open it and sew 1 side to coat and 1 side to the hood. If you are a bit more advanced, you may wish to integrate the zip into the collar where it is sewnvonto the coat
