SECRET BURRITO TRICK: 3 ways to sew HOODS with BEAUTIFUL results. LINED & UNLINED.

Hello friends, here is a fun sewing technique video for you. If you want to make open styles like jackets or cardigans with a hood, you can make it lined or unlined with different methods that turn out amazing!

1. Trim away the seam allowance of the Lining of the hood and bind the raw edges with cotton binding that can be on the bias or on the straight of grain. 2. Burrito roll method to enclose the neckline seams and it’s neat inside and out. I used the Donna jacket to film this method. It’s not the instructions of the pattern. See the Donna jacket video here: • Video

3. Unlined hood. Align twill tape seam or an alternative woven fabric to the raw edge of the neckline and hood. Super neat and easy to sew. This is from the Castillo cardigan (Itch to Stitch) tutorial.

Love this video with all the different ways to approach a hoodie. Definitely one I’ll watch numerous times. I usually use a silk tie to bind my edge for a pop of color. Perfect timing of this video. I was sewing exactly that a hooded top. I did just like you said and my project came out amazing. All I have to finish is sleeve band and bottom waist band. My pattern didn't have a zipper. I have a different hooded pattern that will have a zipper and now I'm confident I will sew jacket perfectly.👍😊
