I would love it if you could show us how you get your coverstitch to look so clean and nice on the backside. It's not always easy to have the stitches fall exactly on the edge of the fabric (the hem). What is your method for doing this? Please share, thanks!

Hi..just tried this technique (since it looked awfully easy and had a great finish)...i tried it on regular cotton material tho...and sadly :-( it didnt sit welll...has gapes !!!! why ??? Is this specific to Knits ?

Lata Sundar hi. Yes this will work on knits. I don't expect this to work on wovens. We are applying a band cut on the straight grain to neckline which is circular and therefore need the band to stretch. I have never made this on cotton, in the video we talked about cutting the neckband with the max stretch going across the length of the band. So stretch is important here Are you familiar surf the term "bias" . On wovens you cab apply bias tape bindings. Those are bindings that are cut on the bias and either come pre made, or you make them at home. Any fabric, even the mom stretch kinda like cotton, will stretch when cut on the bias. They might not stretch a lot, but they yell stretch some . This helps apply the bias binding to necklines. Does that make sense? Please let me know. Thanks Lata!!!
