Been sewing 50+ years and have never seen the facing folded over, topstitched in this manner. Still finish the facing edges, sew, understitch then either stitch in the ditch or topstitch. Or do bias binding. Going to try your way as it does look polished. Also, I never clip curves anymore. Nancy Zieman trimmed instead as shw felt notching weakened the fabric. It actually does work better. Thank you for your video.

I truly love how neat it looks outside and inside and how clear your step by step instructions are. I just have a hard time with the line of stitches around my necklines. I wish there was a way to make those stitches invisible. I guess I could make them invisible but still...

You could hand blind stitch the final line, instead of topstitching as I did.

Nice video, very helpful. :) But do we have to use interfacing or can we just use another layer of the same fabric? I did not purchase any interfacing and would like to know if it is needed.

Because interfacing is a nonwoven fabric, it provides stabilization and support that just fabric can't. However, it won't likely ruin your garment to skip it if you are using a fairly stable woven fabric.

This is why you want to finish edges of interfaced fabric.
