How to Sew a Plastic Diaper Cover

Here's how to sew an adult diaper cover out of plastic vinyl with FOE elastic around the legs and waist. I used a 4 gauge clear vinyl, but do not recommend it. A softer, 100% PEVA fabric is MUCH better. You can get that cheap by buying a shower curtain. Just keep in mind that not all PEVA shower curtains are the same! Sometimes it pays to pay just a bit more for better quality ;)

Cool . But what I like to know from little onion cloth is about dying plastic pants aka vinyl pants that are clear . I am worried that it night ruin the vinyl pants. If you could make a video of dying clear vinyl pants.

Honestly, the only thing I've come across is a spray paint type thing and I don't think that would hold up to the necessary washings for a diaper cover. You'd be better off finding vinyl that's not clear if you want to go that route.

Yes. I usually put gussets in when I sew with fold over elastic on PUL. The video I'm going to put out next week will cover how to sew gussets with FOE.

Wow, these are quite noisy. Would other people be able to hear these on you?

Oh my god, they are SO noisy! Finding an easy to source pvc/vinyl fabric has been the bane of my life. Honestly, the best bet is using a 100% PEVA shower curtain that's a higher quality and not so plasticky and noisy. Other places to get vinyl that people have told me is reusing vinyl from bed and mattress pads.

If it doesn't have to be transparent plastic you can also use pu coated polyester rainwear fabric. Depending on your likening you might use it with either the fabric inside or the plastic. I prefer the fabric inside because of the added wearing comfort.

Why didn’t you show us the process of sewing on the elastic? That’s half the battle. I feel like this video is a waste of time.
