Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! I've just completed a bag sewn with marine vinyl. I've been trying to figure out how to attached the handles so that they do not break from everyday use. I think this method will help alot!

This is a really great way to do the connectors! It save so many errors. Thank you! Also, I was wondering what kind of thread are you using for your fabric? I have a domestic machine so I'm not sure of my all purpose thread would be ok for this. Thank you!
@fiercekittenz

I’m using Tex 90 thread, but that’s for the industrial machine. For a domestic, I’d use upholstery thread!

I watch so many of your videos, you do great professional work! I have learned a lot from you. You are into so many things and work a lot of machines. I also want to say I like your humor, the world needs more humor! I particularly like your video where are you hiding the toilet paper. lol That was really funny and at a time when it was scarce. Seriously, your videos are very knowledgeable and informative! Thank you!

Hi! This is brilliant! I have a weird situation though. The point in my bag where I want to add this is actually at a seam. It’s for a boxed bag so it’s where the two side seams come together. Which means they would intersect the horizontal slit I’d be making for the strap connector. Is that going to create problems? How can I use this method on that bag?
@fiercekittenz
@fiercekittenz Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah... I wouldn't do that, sorry :( You'd potentially weaken that seam and it would eventually pull apart. I haven't done one of those before on the horizontal slit, but if I were to do any kind of strap connector there, I'd honestly just rivet it into place.

I'm relatively new at sewing; if using cotton quilt fabric, could you make a buttonhole for the slit?

You mentioned that you sometimes make your Lolas smaller than the regular pattern. What size do you make them? Do you have a picture of one? Thank you
@fiercekittenz
@fiercekittenz Жыл бұрын
I make them at 80% and here's a picture: instagram.com/p/CSU7NbiJazu/ I love this size, because they're small enough to do cross-body as an option and not so small that you can actually pack a bunch of stuff into them!

Hey, Kittenz! Thanks for this video! Is it about 1/8 inch from the slit you are stitching?
@fiercekittenz
@fiercekittenz Жыл бұрын
Yes, roughly 1/8"! You don't want to be too far away, but also not so close since you won't catch the edge of the seam, or be so close it'll rip.

Then this probably isn't the channel for you. I like to give thorough explanations and repeat important details, because not everyone will catch it the first time it is mentioned. Next time I'll make sure to talk like Mickey Mouse - you know, to make it more entertaining and "distracting" at the same time.
