Since many comments have asked for specific dimensions, my hood, once sewn together and laid out like 1:05 is about 35x26 inches (89x66 cm). That means the fabric you’ll cut will be 35x52” (88x132 cm). I’m using the Black Series helmet, so if you have a different helmet, or are making a hood for a different project, adjust your measurements as described in the video.

Reno Gregory, if you ever come to Poland, beer's on me pal. I am in your debt for this tutorial. The one by Dawn Bright is vague to say the least.

Oh my gosh i love this. Thanks so much. The fabric is perfect. And i was wanting a full cloak on this fabric but they only had 2 yards and it’s just enough for the hood and scarf until they get more in. Best explanation 🙌🏼

Thank you for this. I watched another tutorial and I could not figure out what was going on past a certain point. I became very confused. Your explanation of the parts is very helpful. I actually have an overlocker/serger so I think I wonder if that would for the inside seams. I wonder if I could just get away with ironing instead of doing the top stitching on the last part. Again, thank you. This made it so much easier to understand and makes it look much easier. What were the dimensions of the fabric needed for this hood? I found the pattern but it doesn't say how much fabric is needed.

Hi, great video! Can you please tell me the size of the cloth when folded in half? Thanks.
@mycats73213 жыл бұрын
It took me a beat to realize that the fabric piece you showed was folded in half already and that the fold was at the top. LOL. Thank you for this. I'm planning to make a Jedi hood and I want to have one that is bigger on the sides (so more of the hood will lay on the shoulders when up). So, I'd increase the height of the hood for that, I'm assuming. I don't have a sewing machine but I can sew by hand. It will take awhile with this much fabric. LOL. How much fabric was that?

Am I allowed to use this tutorial for just a simple hoodie? I’ve never really like the normal hoods and I’m making one from scratch so I’d rather have it how I like it!

great video!! someone has the pattern to make the cape attached to the hood?
@RenoSydney4 жыл бұрын
The cape is.... a beast in and of it self. All tutorials I've seen for the cape essentially just involve wrapping a really long piece of fabric around your neck in a semi particular way. (Depending on how perfectionistic you are about getting it to lay like the movie accurate costume design)

I am looking for how much yardage I should buy....? Anyone?
@bendakstarkiller12704 жыл бұрын
For the entire basketweave part of the costume? The average is 7meters. You can use less if you make the scarf/cape out of 2 parts, otherwise that part alone is 2.5-3yards.

What is the full size L and W of the fabric when it is in the rectangle shape before you cut it to that shape you have in the video you don't mention how long of a rectangle piece you need to start this project. What L and W do you need to start this project that would be real helpful.
@RenoSydney3 жыл бұрын
My pattern, if you lay it out like at 1:03, is about 35 inches wide by 26 inches tall (89x66 cm). I am fitting this over the black series helmet.
@charlesconroy36073 жыл бұрын
@@RenoSydney I have a helmet as well will this cover the helmet and about how many yards total of the fabric do you need to make sure you have enough for this project and what pattern did you use pattern 1 or 2. and can I print out the pattern's.

4:54 - Lies. Just sew it people. Takes us 10+ minutes if fussing to get it to look right. Or, at the least safety pin it and save yourself the hassle of putting on two separate pieces every time!
