Oh my goodness. I've done this exact scrap buster but I put in the measuring tape instead of a zip. I made it very similar, quite small and the lobster clasp. The guys on my daughter's college campus loved my sewing projects. Everything had a clasp or something to attach it to their lanyard (with their dorm key card), or to their backpacks. The other thing they loved was Super Hero pillow cases. My leftovers from that, I made pencil pouches. My daughter said it was weird walking around campus seeing my sewing. 😅 I made hand warmers, but they used them for some kind of game. Like kicking a soccer ball but using little pocket sized poppers and passing them back and forth.

Strange walking around and seeing your sewing - Love it! I used to drive a school bus, and I'd give my kid's outgrown coats to kids who needed them. I gave them to the nurse, not on the bus, and they didn't know who gave them to them, but it was gratifying! There goes Sarah's coat! On a girl who had a mother with a warm coat, and this little six year old had on a windbreaker. In January. In New York. You just want to strangle some people. The mother had plenty of cigarettes, too. Sorry - got off topic!!

@@palominogirl2732 I hear you though. What they choose to prioritize astounds me as well. I always had kids from my daughter's bus stop come over "early" to walk to the bus stop together. What they needed was breakfast. This was never ending. But, I just simply asked if they liked this kind of granola bar, you want some juice with that or milk? Nothing to embarrass them. After school, my daughter raided our garden. Fresh peas right from the pod, or green beans, washing some carrots, sitting under the big walnut tree in the shade, eating fresh produce with her friends. They were meant to be eaten, and they were. The next year, I asked them to help me plant. They had so much fun, and so did I. That's where my money went. I also tutored at school. Always had extra of something, just in case. 🙂❤️

I substitute taught for a few years after hanging up my Freightliner keys, and , being a farmer sort of girl, would ask the kids stuff like if they knew what kind of apple they were eating, or show them photos of three colors of carrots from my garden, etc., putting the idea in their head that some people grow their own food. My dream is to have a larger farm with an indoor ring, and have after school and summer programs for kids to learn about horses, raising cattle, pigs, chickens, gardening, canning, sewing, outdoor things like camping, and turn them into self-reliant, capable people. Waiting on the Universe to send me that money so I can get that going. Good for you for feeding them and putting that idea in their heads!

@@palominogirl2732 Do you have a Parks and Recreation department in your area? My area has a very diverse things that kids to sign up for. It's not just for sports. You could check into it and see if there's interest. My little one knew how to plant and harvest by 6 years old. But, the other kids in our neighborhood had no idea what they were eating. I told them, but they didn't believe me 😂. It was so fun having 8-9 little kids in my garden. They listened so well. I had made two plates of brownies for a snack, one made with homemade applesauce. I even got them to eat zucchini bread. The trick was grating my zucchini very finely, so my bread wasn't stringy.

@@sharonwilson8208 Yes, we have lots of parks here, but not for horses, and I don't have an indoor ring, so days I could teach riding would be very limited. And I need lesson horses. And, yeah, my kids and grandkids have been in the garden a lot with me. They know a root veg from a tomato, for sure. :)

Cute pouch! Always useful, and I love the Pansy fabric. I wonder if it would be better to put the fleece on after the two strips have been stitched together, less bulk in the side seams. Good tip using tape to pull the zipper together, it’s always an issue for me. Thanks for posting this cute purse! 👛

Love a flat, soft coin purse for slipping in the jeans' pocket or clipping into a bag. This style would also make a good secure container for a bunch of keys - car, front door, inner front door, back door, security locks. Not all at the same time perhaps. Even a key to the elderly parents house. Make a small tag and ring inside just under the closing end if the zip, so they can all be zipped away except the one you need to use . L. E❤

More quilters than you can imagine seem to give it up at some point and sell of their scraps too. You could cut their squares in 1/2 and save some time too. But it looks to me like people in Australia are used to paying a bit more for bags. Is it that shipping costs make everything a little more? Maybe less appreciation for the work here? I think the AUD is close to par with the CAD.

Anything small and round, improvise. I used the bottom of an overlocker cone and an old cd yesterday when I needed a round shape.

Do you think everybody that you sell these 2? Want your name of your business on a tag on the front of their product. I don't think I, why couldn't you put that just on the inside of your lining? Like other makers do that are professional. And so when you unzip it, then you can tell who it's from whatever so that to me your name of your business and I'll take that tag that you put on the front takes away from the bag. Yeah I mean even if you put it on the back of the bag it would be better

You could just turn the bag around and then the label would be on the back🤣 To be fair, I have actually done both, and have also asked my customers several times where they like the labels. Not one has wanted them inside. We're in a tourist town, I sell to tourists. They like to know and show off the products they purchase. I also experimented heavily with the labels and found my products sell much better with them on the outside. It may not be something that works for you, but for my products it's made all the difference to my sales
