3th watch, should be ready to try one. For my daughter's chrochet needles and notions. To pick the fabrics will be hard, that girl is picky. You did awesome, and you are so funny. You bring me back from crazy after a cat attack. Yes, going to the doctor nails went in deep into my breast. So painful. But you made me feel a little better.😭

Two of my projects waiting almost a year to be finished because of that step with the zipper sew in. Thank!

Thanks for showing us this super useful zipper case. It isn't as hard as it looked like at first. You always make things look easier when you demo them. I was wondering if it was bias binding. Thanks for clarifying that. I like how you quilted it first. It added a nice touch. This would be great for gifts. Thanks again.
@dawnberkshire1145 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! I wasn't sure how to do the outside zipper. I have a couple tips for your binding though. Use bias binding instead of straight binding to get around those curves easier. Also instead of using clips when you hand sew on the binding, use a little school glue and dry with a low set iron and you don't have use any clips!

I looked at the pattern you put a link to and it says FQ next to some of the supplies needed. What does FQ mean?
@hollywaddell67275 жыл бұрын
eve erwin: to further clarify the Fat Quarter cut of fabric...... In conventional sewing, a quarter of a yard of fabric is 9" x the WOF (Width of Fabric). For example: If fabric on a bolt is 44" wide and you ask for 1/4 yard (9") you will get 396 square inches of fabric (44 x 9 = 396). In quilting and for small projects like this, it is more useful to have an 18" piece of fabric; but 18" x WOF is way more fabric than is needed for small projects and some quilting patterns. So the quilting industry came up with the Fat Quarter to make for more efficient use of fabric with less waste. A Fat Quarter measures 18" along the selvage edge and only 1/2 the WOF (cut at the fold, no matter what the original width of fabric is). In my example above this is 18" x 22" = 396 square inches! So you still get a quarter yard of fabric, it's just in a more efficient shape. I come from a garment sewing background, so this FQ thing made me frown and wonder "WHY?" but now that I'm starting to quilt, I get it.
