In the U.S. it’s called “interfacing,” if iron-on, then “fusible interfacing”.🌻

I am not doing any hand work at the moment but watching your channel is a must and now I also follow homely house too even that I do not do quilting. But I share your love for thrift shops. 30 years ago the English person would not be seen dead in there. It was only people who had very little money or Eastern European like me. Now you cannot swing a cat in there for people. At least the charities are the winners❤😊

I'm definitely going to be making some of these needle cases. They are desperately needed as my needles are completely undisciplined and the circular ones even tangle themselves up with each other. Agree with you totally about had sewing, very relaxing, almost as good as knitting. It's good to slow down. I recently bought a kettle to go on the gas hob to boil water instead of using the electric one - to save on energy costs. You have to put it on a good five minutes before you need the boiling water but it's so nostalgic to wait like that, to hear it humming and then rising to a whistle when the water is boiled. Doesn't it just do us a power of good to slow down.

I need to use a bunch of my scraps up as well so of course this project lends itself well to doing just that. The ribbon for stitch markers is a great idea! I "assume" the English term was most likely interfacing for the pocket flaps.

We say iron on interfacing boys. Vilene is a Brand name, but in the UK the Vilene brand changed it’s name to Vlieseline. Confusing for us UK so never mind you guys. Uk say ‘wadding’ for inside a quilt, USA say ‘Batting’ however us quilters understand but it’s confusing for new quilters. I have your pattern boys. This video was beautiful to watch.

I love these cases and wish I could think of a way to adapt them to paintbrushes. I have never quite understood why you need quite so many needles of the same size? My knitting stash (generally) is one long pair, one short pair of straight needles, similarly maybe 3 lengths of double ended needles and 3 lengths of circular ones. So I need to figure out you GORGEOUS cases to accommodate this ...

I have to ask, is the batting absolutely necessary?
@cbjones2212 Жыл бұрын
I had a commercial needlecase that didn't have any batting and found that the needles moved around quite a bit. Perhaps the batting helps with that? I'm planning to make one but using a piece of woven wool fabric instead of batting.
