#### That's GOLDEN for beginners! 😲👏 *Could you make a video or short to explain what "length", "width" and "tension" refer to?* Like varying each one of them in turns and show the audience what the changes of result one gets? 😋 THANKS! 💐🤗

After a while the scroll part stops curling the fabric. You stop and adjust and that section looks like crap when you inspect it later. Works for short runs but if you have a really long hem - well good luck I certainly haven’t been able to get it to work consistently.
@wendowslive8 ай бұрын
Same here xd. Have been sewing for over 10 years now and still cant get it to work. I prefer serging the edges first and use that as a guide for the rold hem and do it all by hand. I have way more control over it that way, especially with a curved hem with a circle skirt for example.

My biggest problem was corners, which I still have trouble with on some fabrics. So I do them by hand. Otherwise I love thing.

Been sewing professionally for over 30 years. That foot does NOT work. In a factory, they use a huge, far more complicated foot to achieve consistent results. Also it's almost impossible to sew from the very beginning of the hem. Far easier to do the 2 stage method of a rolled hem.

Omg can you please do a video on how to use the foot on chiffon and do a 1/8 baby hem? It's driving me crazy at the moment 😅
@Woodlawn225 ай бұрын
Just saw a guy hemming chiffon. He marked a line to follow about an inch from edge. Then, using a very narrow and fairly short zigzag setting, he zigzagged along the line over a strand of topstitching thread. He held the topstitching thread up at about a 45 degree angle. Then he pressed the 1" of fabric to the inside along the line. Then he zigzagged over this crease, pressed again, and trimmed away the excess fabric very close to the stitching. A tiny, tiny hem! Hope this helps you!
@PanthereaLeonis2 ай бұрын
And this also works for hems slightly further in on the fabric? Or only in the 2-3mm range? Are there foots for wider hems?

Could you use this with lace, and feed dogs that can’t be lowered?
@actualangel51338 ай бұрын
What's feed dog?
@aimeebrewer71758 ай бұрын
Feed dogs is a term used to describe the feed teeth that move the fabric when stitching. Sometimes the feed teeth are fixed on sewing machines and you can't lower them, or there aren't any cover options available for the machine (as is the case with the White sewing machines from the '90s).
