How do you get that effect with the shadows? It's nice and I can't seem to duplicate when I shade my figures

Being able to experiment is an awesome feature of working digitally. I still struggle to find a rendering style I'm comfortable with. I have this constant debate with myself if I should just allow the colors to dictate the render. Like, instead of blocking in shadows, as you're demonstrating here, just leave the line art open and just let the colors take the place of any rendering.

I've been having a ton of difficulty inking since I had my portfolio reviewed a couple of months ago. Do you have a video on light sources?

Good idea. I need to start doing more complex scenes. They just take longer to plan and record so I usually do that with my full course content. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed this video! :)

I just want to say how awesome it is to see you working on an ipad and in procreate. You were the first artist I saw switching and experimenting and it basically sold me on it. Now that I have one of my own I'm shocked at just how much of the job I can do without being tethered to photoshop. It's not 100% for me yet, but damn! I'm so thankful you're still doing it. Great vid Rob Thanks!!!

I truly enjoy the iPad Pro and Procreate. If they just made a few more tweaks such as being able to quickly edit file sizes and a little better import/exports then it would be much better. I still find work arounds to everything and the ability to draw on the go is awesome. So I am right there with you. Amazing drawing experience and Procreate has some of the coolest features on the market in my opinion. Best selection tool by far and I love the snap line feature. They should all have that one! I still prefer Clip Studio Paint for larger illustrations but almost all of my ideas start on the iPad Pro or in my traditional sketchbook! :)

Your tutorials inspire me to try new techniques, thanks for taking the time to do them. Do you tweak the procreate brush settings much, or largely go for the defaults? I am still trying to find a good inking pen setting so any tips or links to tutes would be great.

Awesome one Robert! I have one question to ask you though. Did you do any art related courses and to what extent did they help in order to enhance your art style? It would be awesome if you let me know. Thanks and keep up the awesome work, I recently found your channel and is one of the best one out there so far!

Hello Robert, I discovered this channel of yours this year. I hope you can read this comment, you are a very talented artist, congrats on your skills. I'm trying to shade a character's leg and I was in doubt about something...in your third leg...the dark area will be straight black or a darkened version of leg's color? If you could answer this for me, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance, keep the good work buddy 👌👍
