Why would you use a boston shaker? The 3-piece one with the top that also has a strainer built-in works much better and doesn't damage your glass.
@LadyOhEvans9 жыл бұрын
Avalaxy i agree. but (at least where i am, working as a bartender), boston shaker is what most bars use for speed. quicker to operate and quicker to rinse. that and i think its much nicer and cooler that what you are adding in the shaker is visible to all.

Rich did not tell what the optimal duration for shaking a drink is. 5sec is too short, 30s is too much (except if you are using egg whites and are looking for the "creamy" look), and anywhere between 10 to 15s is optimal.

Hiya, it depends also on how hard, what you're making and the quality of the ice. I find the only constant is the result, If you know what the end result you're looking for is and when you get it how you want it you know to stop, you'll always get a great drink.

xEkLiiPz there are some of my cocktails I shake for around 50 secs because that is the way I want it.. in my oppinion it is a matter of getting to know your cocktail

Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube i have tried mixing Sake with plum and apricot (muddled and strained) , and top up with Sprit. not bad. :) throw in a dried prune in the end, charming

I'm a year late! But better late than never. 1 oz sake to 2 oz Calpico concentrate is really good. It's like a take on the soju + yogurt drink cocktail.

Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube Do you guys typically hold to the rule that you don't shake a drink made only of spirits, like a martini or manhattan (and thus do if it has other mixers like juice)?
