How to Share a 5 Minute Devotional // Tips for Study and Presentation

Sharing a devotion for a small group can be intimidating. Here are just a few of the ways I prep for sharing a short devotional that I humbly submit to you for consideration.

Prerequisites - Start doing these now
- Be in prayer & God's word regularly
- Gather a few resources
Preparation - In the Study
- Pray
- Find a text for your devotion
- Work through seven arrows of Bible study
- Pray through the results and arrive at one clear truth/application for your people from the text.
- Check with your Study Bible/Reputable sources on if the passage speaks to that or you need to find a better application from the passage.
Presentation - Preparing for the presentation and when presenting
- Pray first
- Start with a hook
- Set up the passage (Share Context they need to know), read, and explain the passage
- Teach/Share God's Word from your text
- Share the truth/application clearly
- Land the plane well and stop
- Later, thank God for the opportunity and pray for results

I have to rewind 5-6 times getting distracted with my little ones (cat & dog) needs. Even though a few seconds, I rewind it, the Holy Spirit wants me to have full attention to your words. 😂 I was doubting my opening scripture that since onday the Lord gave me and the body of the devotion. So you said Psalm 119. The devotion is in Psalm 119:119. 😮😮 Yes, i was asking for confirmation in prayer. Jesus has a sense of humor. I laughed with him
