Remains very current and vital information. Hardest part was determining which version the shared screens came from, ie Desktop PowerBI, Teams Power BI , Pro or Free versions.

Thank you for great video. I would like to send notification to members whenever i make refresh/republish PBI report , after sharing PBI dashboard via Teams. Is there anyway to do it? Thanks for your reply in advance!

You can potentially set up Power Automate to do this. Not exactly the same as this video... but you get the idea kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHuYYqWdo6uAp9U

All these sharing options via teams, app, workspace always require a pro license for the individual user correct? So as long as you don't have premium even teams sharing would not work for "normal" users in the company
@AccessAnalytic3 жыл бұрын
Yes Daniel, everyone needs a licence unless you have premium. With premium report viewers don’t need a licence.

try this kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX3dgnqOZauiebs ... embed code to make it publicly (careful with the info you share if it's organizational matter)

Hi, thank you very much for all this information. Do the option "share in teams" also work if I (the creator of the report) has a Pro license, but the end user on Team doesn't have a pro license ?
@AccessAnalytic2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. The end user needs a pro licence in all sharing scenarios. The only time they don’t is if your report is shared from a Premium workspace. Larger companies pay for premium ( costs USD $5,000 + per month ) as it means end users don’t then need individual licences
@carloshcaceres2 жыл бұрын
Here's in an option to share with non-pro users... kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX3dgnqOZauiebs (I had this trouble at the beginning) ... still learning.
@AccessAnalytic2 жыл бұрын
@@carloshcaceres, yes you can print and download or share unsecurely via publish to web, but I wouldn't recommend those
@carloshcaceres2 жыл бұрын
@@AccessAnalytic agree. that would be the only downsize ... but for other regular data would work such as, sharing special project that involves organization's impact to the community... or other high level info for the public... let's say it's a fair option. Most definitely, I liked your recommendation to provide Direct Access to Teams group... if you don't know who has access to key confidential data, then that Is a huge risk of data leaks...

Thank you for this, Microsoft still has some way to go to make the Teams integration of PowerBI easier for its users.

Can we use Teams to share reports with Power BI desktop. When I click share, polite message appears advising pro licence required Thanks, Martin
@AccessAnalytic Жыл бұрын
Power BI desktop is where you build reports, you then click publish and share via PowerBI.com where you can also embed in teams. Any form of sharing requires the sharer to have a pro licence. The viewer also needs a pro licence unless the report is shared from a “premium” workspace I have a video on licensing here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnOWlpSOqKmNd7M
@seangoodrich63582 жыл бұрын
This is great! I'm curious though, can users I share it to on Teams who don't have a Power BI account still slice through the data? Or will it be a static dashboard? If not, do you have any recommendations for this circumstance?
@AccessAnalytic2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Sean. Only users with a Power BI licence can see Power BI reports. 2 exceptions... 1. Where report has been shared from a Premium Capacity workspace. 2. Where the report has been published to web (unsecure)

What if the end-users haven't got a Pro License? Will they still be able to view the report in Teams even if I only got a Pro License?

Unless your organisation has Power BI Premium (diamond workspaces)
@bandarth2 жыл бұрын
does this work for free power bi users?
@AccessAnalytic2 жыл бұрын
No, any sharing & viewing of reports requires a pro licence If an organisation pays for premium then reports shared from a premium workspace can be viewed by users with a free licence.
