This is three years old not, so guess you have figured out how to set the depth of cut by now... its that knob at the top right.

when you flip from doing the left side or the right side, do you have to readjust P30 & P31?

Not wanting to get negative backlash, but I have sharpened chain and made all teeth the same, and have determined it doesn't make any difference if there is a small variation in length. I also was careful not to get tooth hot, but have determined that doesn't seem to make any difference. Tooth does not seem any softer even after a little blue shows.

Over heated cutters DO NOT get SOFTer, they get really hard and so hard that they are very difficult to file to touch up.

I've heard the opposite that overheating or "bluing" the tooth makes it harder and even more difficult to sharpen.

When you transfer to the other direction aren't you supposed the move the front plate forward?

It will be on. Box of chain or if dont have box but know company you can look up info on the webpage for chain you have
