Best shifter ever in a reverse pattern. That being said I absolutely hate it in a forward pattern. It bumps into neutral way to easy in the forward pattern. If you hold on to the trigger handle just a smidge to long, as soon as you release it the shifter will go into neutral. Again in a reverse pattern I want nothing else but the pro stick, but I prefer the pro ratchet in the forward pattern.

I agree with you about the 3-N shift. I redesigned the detent plate to convert the Pro Stick to function like a True Slap shifter. You can simply slap it twice for 1-2 and 2 to Drive and it won't go into neutral until you squeeze the trigger and push forward. You might like this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKaxgKuKmd6LnJI

Can be used in any dirextion. Its just ur first gear will be at the top instead of 3rd.

Because it's a terrible design/system. I got a detent plate from DPJ Fabrication @danjanes8689 and it works great. Slap it all the way - from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and it stops right there at 3rd so u can't accidentally over shift into neutral. Then you must pull the trigger again to go into neutral. Or rock it back-n-forth between 2nd and 3rd (if you're on a winding hill or a road course) without accidentally going into 1st or neutral. The reverse lock out is still the same. This crappy shifting w/the Prostick is why I never bought one until now. It only took me about 15 - 20 minutes to remove the old plate, clean and grease the shifter and put it all back together. I'll post a video when I put in the car I'm currently building. It's friggen sweet man.

If the Pro Stick Shifter is used on a 4-speed transmission the shifter will actuate as seen in the video with one additional downshift into low. We offer 2 models of the Pro Stick Shifter, one strictly for 2 speed Powerglide transmissions (part# 80702/80704) and one for 3 and 4-speed GM, Ford and Chrysler transmissions (part# 80706). The non-Powerglide Shifter has blocking pins that can be removed changing the shifter from a 3-speed to a 4-speed. As for a 3 speed, the Pro Stick comes equipped as a 3 speed, for forward valve body applications. If you have a reverse pattern valve body then you will also need to purchase a 3 speed, reverse gate plate, part# 80710. Yes, it does. When shifting from 1 (low) to 2 just push the shift stick forward. From 2 to "D" squeeze the lockout handle on the shift stick to shift. From "D" to "N" push the shift stick forward. From "N" to "R" use the small forward lockout. And from "R" to "P" squeeze the lockout handle on the shift stick. Too much hassle for me,. A more simple shifter would be like the Kilduff Exterminator Shifter, its got all the safety detents too, but much simpler and all is one hand operational.

You are right, and I've made a custom True Slap detent plate for this and the TCI Outlaw shifter that solves that problem. I started out with my patented idea to convert factory GM muscle car shifters so that they can be slap shifted not only for the 1-2 shift, but also for the 2-3 shift. There's no need to squeeze the trigger to make either of the shifts positively, and you can't accidentally shift to Neutral.
