Cool presentation. I agree to never lie or embellish a personal experience, because it will not be authentic and interviewers catch on to that. Also, finding an answer to a question you think cannot provide adequate experience is key. Taking the time to find an answer with previous experience can really be found. Thank you for sharing!

I do have one thing to say though... The interviewee is also kind of interviewing you to know if your company is the right fit for them. Maybe it's a new mom who would prefer to work from home and if you say "no", it would really not be a good fit for them... It may be the most important decision making factor for them. Please don't judge it as a dumb question. The candidate may not essentially be asking a question to start an interesting conversation with you and that should be fine. The "ask me a question" is a good chance to show your intelligence (like you pointed out)... But it's also probably the only chance the candidate will get to understand if the company also, is a fit for them. Same goes with dating... I may have a strong feeling about dating someone more than 5-10 years older than me. No question is a bad question. "No question" on the other hand, shows that you are not as interested or not really curious. Loved all the other advice. Thank you.

Hello great sharing, thank you very much, Mr. Aseyo, how do you respond to anyone who would come up to you and ask why you left Facebook?

I'm sure James Womack's answer to the million dollar idea would be "Solve my problem (and here is the million dollar word) - completely." Food, clothing, housing. Delivery is a newly targeted market. You can buy food and have it delivered. You can buy clothes on the internet, have them delivered, and return them if they don't fit. Housing, nobody has yet made this convenient. Speaking of delivery, there is the whole subject of transportation. Uber is nice, but kind of expensive. There are a million and one problems with owning a car. BMW will actually flatbed pickup and deliver your car for warranty/scheduled service. For busy people this is a real bonus. Buying an airline ticket is hardly the complete solution to your inter-city transportation.

Although the video is very informative, Mr. Aseyo never worked at Faceook as a PM. You can see on his Linkedin profile (www.linkedin.com/in/valentineaseyo ) that he held various roles involving product-focused ones but never was an official PM for the company. Therefore I think it would be better for the viewers to position him accordingly.

Hey Olly! Valentine has officially worked at Facebook as a Product Manager. With such a young role like Product Management, there is a lot of confusion on how titles should be worded. Given this, we have spoken with Valentine and his responsibilities at Facebook fit perfectly into the current definition of a Product Manager. If you still have doubts, you can see that from 2011-2013 that Valentine was the Product Manager, User Experience Manager, and Outsourcing Manager. With such a complicated background, we believe it makes much more sense to generalize by saying Product Manager instead of listing the 7 different roles he was in at Facebook. Hope this clears up the confusion!

Why would I give away my $1M idea when interviewing?!
@TauheedahMuhammad8142 жыл бұрын
I think there is risk in sharing one’s million dollar idea. Don’t underestimate the fact that your 75 geniuses aren’t covering the intellect of all the genius that isn’t in that room. That was a pretty arrogant response.
