I’m not a shiny hunter (or rather, I wasn’t, until today), but last night I accidentally killed Dialga, and I reset my game to catch him (as you do) and it was a shiny! I’m still in utter disbelief, and I think I might be for the rest of my life. I’ve only ever encountered two other shinies naturally in my life, and neither of them were particularly good, and not worth having on a team. This is the first time I’ve ever encountered a powerful shiny and it was the box legendary! Sorry for the rant, but what I mean to say is; after catching shiny Dialga by mistake, I’ve started feeling lucky, and I’m gonna catch the other two as shinies as well. I mean, I already have all three as non-shinies in Shield, so why not, right?

@@env3lop OMG!!! Congrats. I'm only at 760 encounters and I already want to give up... We're taking a trip to Florida tomorrow morning though, and I plan on using the flight time to shiny hunt it non-stop. I wish I had 2 switches to make this process go by faster...

@@Brawndo2008 Yeah if you only have 1 account on your switch that can also speed it up. It's definitely worth it. I would also recommend having a pokemon with soak so you can false swipe and a substitute pokemon so it doesn't use pain split. What I did was paralyze it with luxray, then soak with lumineon, and then use driflfloon to minimize and substitute and baton pass to carchomp to false swipe.

How do people know how many resets you have done?? Does it tell you somewhere??

I use an app on my phone to count! It isn't anywhere in the game!

I'm literally at 20,000 resets, and still haven't found a shiny Giratina. The game keeps crashing once in a great while after clicking on giratina as well... Am I losing shinies to crashes...?

@@McMossy Yeah this is pretty nuts- I've been going for at least 3 hours a day since Dec 17th. I got my shiny Dialga in 20 hours, so I figured- "giratina? Can't take that long." I was WrOnG, h e l p But hey-- good luck with Dialga, that's a pretty shiny

First time actually putting any time into hunting a shiny (don’t usually bother, I’m more of a a complete the dex and go kinda guy) and after 32 resets I’m ready to give up. Unbelievable that people can do this for over 5k attempts… I don’t wanna do that );
