Hello, when I was watching your video I saw your items didn’t weigh much but you had to pay quite a bit for shipping. I use pirate ship often and one thing that has been very useful for items like you shipped out in this video is something called “Box in a bag” (it’s part of the envelope option if you read the description below when picking which form your shipping). Basically you can get big poly mailers and cut them and wrap your boxes in it and use the box in a bag option. It literally cuts your shipping cost in halfway. I would definitely suggest looking into it especially clothes and bags

Yay thanks for this! Also thanks for the info about the label printer. I've been pondering getting one for a while. Right now I just print out the label from my computer and cut them out. It takes some extra time and it's a little annoying...I might need a label printer and save on ink etc!

Great video! I actually had the Dymo Printer, but had to use specific labels to print. I switched to the Zebra ZP 450 and I can order UPS, FedEx thermal rolls for free (just create an account). I prefer to use Pirate-ship because I get cash back through my credit card.

To get a shipping estimate on Pirateship for an item I've listed on Mercari, how do I get a cost estimate when no one has bought it yet and I don't have a zip code to plug in?

"Import from integrations" will allow you to link ebay to your pirate ship account so it will load your customer address for you :)

You need to get some smaller size boxes to really save some money... The way that the Shipping works is that the Weight and the Dimensions of the box have the least wasted space... So in both of your examples you had boxes twice as big as you should of been using... That is why the Second box weighed more but was cheaper to ship... The Weight justified the Size of the Box...

If you connect your Ebay account to your Pirate Ship account, it will automatically populate the tracking info into Ebay and show the buyer that it shipped. I've tested it several times already and it always works. It will also autofills the customer's name and address.

Yeah & you do not need to buy anything to be honest cause you can use tools you have at home as a knife to make the light indentation, and then folding it to size & just make the package smaller. All I bought to make my life easier is box cutters & I bought the set of 12 and whenever I have about 5 left I would purchase another set. That way it does not cut in to my profit margins. But find and see what helps for your business itself. 😁

I just use a box cutter & resize it. I also use the import tool it's super fast. & did you know you can use the box in a bag feature on pirate ship & its soo much cheaper. Just put ur box in a poly mailer.

Where did you get the clean plastic bags you put the clothes in before you shipped? I use tissue paper but liked you said sometimes there is quite a bit of space in the box still and looking presentable for the buyer is a big deal. Please and thank you :)

So once you print label from pirate ship what is the next step, when I go back to eBay it's saying to print label? Just enter the tracking number from pirate ship, I feel so dumb asking, I know things are sometimes a learn as ya go but I'm all for any help lol

Did you know if you cut down the height of the box, by scoring the corners to come down box height to just where the top of your item is in the box with some packing paper or bubble wrap on top of it...it then lowers the box size height, which lowers your cost of shipping the packaging on pirateship. You can always check in the pirateship calculator, by inserting the different sizes to see if you can get it into the .5 cubic rate or less sizes, which translates to significant less in cost. Example, a height of only 2.5 inches is less in cost of it, than 5 inches if your item still fits in the height of that box. You can even cut down your free priority shoebox or from the usps height box or length and it significantly cuts down on the cost through piratehsip. Yes, you can alter the prority usps boxes, just not the flat rate ones. I resized that box and went from $18 range on ebay to $8.12 through pirateship, only thing I did was make my priority shoebox 2.5 in height! I use their little cubic rate caluculator playing around with what size I can cut down my box to be into the cubic size slecial peicing...saving tons of money!

I believe EBay charges you a fee for shipping If you charge the buyer for shipping - whether or not you ship through eBay. So make sense to use pirate ship if you offer free shipping. But if you charge buyer shipping on eBay you should just use eBay shipping since it appears to be same price as pirate ship and it’s easier like you said.

I'm sorry for the late response! I don't think there is a specific option for the priority mail shoe box. Instead, I just enter the dimensions of the box under the category of "priority mail." I hope that helps!

Krys_tal you just say you’re going to ship on your own. Once you purchase a shipping label from pirate ship, you’ll need to put the tracking number in.

Sorry for the delayed response! I believe you can only use Pirate Ship to ship items that you sold offering free shipping on Mercari. Otherwise, you have to use Mercari's shipping and pay their prices, or have your buyer's pay Mercari's shipping prices.

Yes-this means YOU’RE paying for shipping, not the buyer. That’s why people who sell on platforms like eBay and Mercari use pirate ship, not Poshmark sellers.
