You mean a USPS ? There isn't one near you? Ok so you're gonna have to ship high knee boots priority mail, USPS does pick ups so maybe you can schedule a pickup. In this case i recommend you use "ship with depop" because they email you the shipping label and you can easily print it, stick it on the box and have them pick it up. I would assume that the boots weight more than 2 pounds ? If so, then choose the large option. It's $12 though. There are different ways, but it's gonna be a little more complicated.

dharma whatever the weight is, choose the option that depop gives you that best suits the weight of the boots. If you click on "ship with depop" they give you four options. The size medium is $9 and the weight limit it 2 pounds. The Large option is $12 and the weight limit is 10 pounds.

Yes girl I literally hate going there ! But if you really hate it, usps (post office) does have pickup options available on their website/ the app. I’m not sure where you live but if that isn’t available to you, just remember that you shouldn’t let anyone stand in your way of your goals or getting to where you want to be. Sometimes when I’m there, to avoid conflict - I don’t speak to anyone ! Unless their nice of course. So yeah, just do what you got to do, get in.. get out. You got this lol.

I haven't started on Depop yet, but I set up my paypal account and made a Depop account (not like fully set up.) because I wanna figure out how to do shipping first. I have no experience whatsoever with shipping so I'm pretty sure I want to do it with Depop. When someone orders something and they said me an email to print the label and put it on a bag or box do I just go to my postal office and tell them "Hey, the price is covered can you please ship this?" Martsuha if you have a package ready to go with a prepaid label you technically don't have to stand in line at USPS, you can just drop it off (or schedule pickups, Lmk if you want more info on this) however I recommend that you stand in line and have them give you a receipt just in case. Just give them the package and they'll know exactly what to do

Jordyn W hi girl! If you chose "ship with depop" that means when the item sells depop will email you the shipping label. All you do is print that shipping label out and tape it to your package and that's it. You can drop it off at your nearest USPS or blue bin. Just make sure that your package doesn't weigh more than what was paid for on the label. Every label has a weight limit when you "ship with depop". Also, the size small option when shipping with depop is first class and for that option you must use your own packaging. For all other sizes when shipping with depop you can use their free priority mail supplies

you totally can ship untracked in a white letter envelope, but i don't recommend, especially during these times. i would encourage you to make a tracked shipping label on paypal for 1-2 oz, it's not pricey at all.

Ben Wubs hi! So shipping will vary drastically on weight and distance. There are also flat rate options (meaning it’s one price for ANY weight anywhere in the US) but those are specific sizes. So it will depend on what you’re shipping. since you’re just starting out I recommend that you use “ship with depop” method since they’ll make the label for you. You just need to know the approx weight of your item :)

Ben Wubs yeah so when you list an item on depop it’ll ask you to fill out the shipping part so where it says domestic there’s a red depop logo that says “ship with depop” if you click that It’ll allow you to choose the size of the package with each weight limit. Let me know if you find it.

Hi thanks for the video at 2:10 what can’t we use the priority mail free supplies(I’m assuming the free supplies are the flat rate envelope and boxes) for? We can’t use them for first class shipping? Or the prepaid shipping options on depop? Also, will we ever have to know the exact weight of the item before posting it for sale? Because I don’t own a postal scale. Lastly, if we ship something that can be mailed in a letter envelope do we just stick the shipping label on it? (sorry I’ve only ever written the addresses on the letter + putting a stamp)

eleanaa no don’t use letter mail to ship things, letter mail only requires a stamp and there’s no way of tracking it. Even if your item is tiny and doesn’t weigh much, I recommend that you make a label on PayPal and use first class...it’ll be about $3 max for something super light that could fit in letter mail (and first class has tracking, win win!) you CANNOT use priority mail supplies for FIRST CLASS (this is because first class mail is a cheaper service than priority mail so you do NOT get free supplies). The first three prepaid labels on “ship with depop” say they’re first class.....I just answered your question above^ you cannot use free priority mail supplies with those labels, however, for size large and x large you may.

hey there! ive started a depop shop and i plan on selling jewelry and other things that are considered first class, now im a bit confused when it comes to shipping, so if its first class where do i get all the packaging from ( ex: boxes, poly mailers, etc. ) do i have to provide it myself? and secondly, where do i drop off the package?

Tea Party if its first class( 1-15 ounces) you must provide your own packaging, check the dollar store for good prices. If you have the prepaid label already then you can just drop them off f the postal office, just make sure that your package doesn't weigh more than what was paid for. Also, just a quick tip. Depop has the "ship with depop" option ONLY the small option (8 ounces) is considered first class, so you can use that for packages up to 8 ounces. If however, you have packages that weigh 9,10,11,12,13,14 or 15 ounces you can pre make the label yourself on PayPal and that way you have it ready and can also just drop them off at the postal office (plus it's also cheaper) I have a video where I show you how to make the labels on PayPal.

FBI using ship with depop means you have the label ready for the package and it's been paid for, so yes you may give it to the mailman just make sure your packages don't weigh more than what the label was paid for, also make sure you're using packaging for the correct label. I read somewhere that if it’s under 13 oz you can ship with the small package size that costs 4.75 . Because anything under 13 oz is for that price . Even if it says it’s only for under .5 lbs (8oz) .

If you shipped with PayPal then PayPal knows you've shipped, but you can provide the tracking info to your buyer on the depop app, also sending them a message would be great. If you shipped using depop then you can also notify the buyer, but apparently only after receiving feedback aka a review from the buyer or item being delivered will it notify PayPal if you shipped this way. Try logging in on safari to receive payments, if you're using the app I noticed a lot of people with the same problem. Also, is your PayPal account completely new? I'm asking because PayPal withholds payments for 21 days for new PayPal accounts with no history.

if you have a prepaid label already then you're good to just drop it off, just make sure that the weight of the package doesn't outweigh the weight limit on the shipping label. Also, make sure you're not using the wrong packaging.

Also...idk if you used free supplies from usps, but that is NOT allowed when you have a FIRST CLASS label...that’s so important...if you have a shipping label that reads “first class” then you cannot use free priority mail supplies...cuz if you do then you’re gonna get charged the priority mail price. Yeah the weight was way over too...I emphasize both these things I said in the video. Don’t make these mistakes because you’re gonna lose money

Not sure if you watched the video until the end, but I explain how to ship with paypal (it's cheaper) which I recommend, what you do is basically go on PayPal and since both DEPOP and PayPal are connected, you're going to see all your customers' purchases, on the order you want to ship you'll click on "print shipping label" there you can choose how you'll be shipping. For instance, you can choose if you want to ship by weight, or if you want to ship first class, flat rate, etc. please watch the whole video I tell you all the prices for flat rate boxes/envelopes. But you can also go into the post office and ship flat rate, but it'll be more expensive

Trinity W no it doesn’t have to be flat rate box, flat rate is for another purchase, but just know you can use the free priority mail boxes (assuming you selected the correct label for the weight of the boots) sizes Large and X large (ship with depop) are priority mail labels which means you get the perks of using the free priority boxes but it’s not a must...you can use your own cardboard box too...if you have one.

Yeah anything 1lb and over needs to be priority mail, anything less than 1lb is first class. For all first class packages you MUST use your own packaging, you may not use the free priority mail supplies for those packages. For all priority mail packages you have the option to choose the free packages or you can use your own supplies too.

Sorry if this has already been answered..but Depop changed max weight to 10lbs. How can I ship a 20lb item through Depop. If I get a quote on my own it’s over $60! The old Depop shipping would have only been $15. Is there a work around somehow ? Thanks

So that’s where flat rate shipping comes in (only for US though) so flat rate shipping refers to the fact that you pay ONE price for ANY weight ANYWHERE in in the US. they have different sizes of boxes and envelopes and each one has a difference price. I talk about every flat rate box in this video (but keep in mind that this video was made about a year ago and prices might be about $2 higher since they change prices every year) if I’m not mistaken the highest you’d pay for a flat rate box is about $20

kayla xo under a pound, but how many ounces ? The label for 4.75$ has a maximum weight of 0.5 lb (which is a maximum of 8 ounces.) the item could've been way more than 8 ounces. Also, what packaging did you use? Did you use priority mail supplies? If so, that's the reason. You cannot use their supplies for first class shipping. First class shipping means less than a pound items. When you use priority mail supplies for first class packages, they're gonna charge you like you're shipping priority (which is more expensive). Please let me know if these may be the reasons.

kayla xo probably because it was mailed not using depop or usps. ups charges you more, which is why depop wants you to use their method so it’s cheaper. so i would probably look at shipping rates based on pounds before you decide to ship your own way.

On DEPOP there is an option where I could allow my buyers free shipping if they get a bundle. anna! Hi Anna! Thank you so much! So there's a few ways you can ship. One of the ways is using the "ship with depop" option, it's on the depop app when setting up shipping. When choosing "ship with depop" it gives you the option of choosing who pays for shipping you or the buyer. So if you choose "I will pay for shipping" then it gives the buyer free shipping :) but if you choose "buyer pays for shipping" then it'll charge them for shipping instead.

Hi! i just sold my first item on depop and ive never used it before but the buyer convinced me to choose the 4.75 shipping instead of the 9.00 to send a pair of jeans... but im pretty sure they weigh a bit more than half a pound. What would you suggest I do?

sparklyashhh ugh I hate when buyers do that :( def don't give in when they ask for cheaper shipping next time. What I would suggest is ask them to send you a few extra dollars and tell them that it was weighed at the postal office and they said it weighs more than the label and just pay the difference with the extra dollars he/she sent you. Because even if you stand in line to get it weighed and stuff they might not catch it, but when they process it to get it ready for shipping they'll def catch the mistake and they'll either send it back or charge her and have her pick it up at her nearest USPS.

sparklyashhh hey girl, so it totally depends how much the difference in weight it is. Usually if it's not that much heavier the post office will have you pay for the difference. But if it's so much heavier you'll need a new label. In order to get a new label you'll need to reach out to depop (here's their email: [e-mail]) and have them void the first one and refund the $$ for it, then you'll have your customer purchase another label. I would recommend that you go to USPS and ask them if you could just pay the difference, if not then just do it the other way.

Bianca Morgan yeah ofc! If you use a DEPOP label, DEPOP automatically uses USPS, they don't use any other service. For example shipping with a DEPOP label you're not able to use fedex nor ups, you must only use USPS and yess you may use their packaging if it's priority mail or flat rate mail, NOT first class! Check your label it, tells you. But if you can't tell the difference basically anything under a pound is first class (and you cannot use their USPS packaging) and anything over a pound is priority (you can use their packaging) Now, when you're shipping on your own and use PayPal you have the option to choose if you wanna use usps or not. If you choose USPS there are so many options depending on the weight of your package and what box/envelope you're using.

Are you sure all of that is under 1 lb? Just asking because the medium option for “ship with depop” has a weight limit of under 1lb. That label is a first class label which means you must use your own packaging (for all priority mail labels usps provides free packaging.) you can purchase a poly mailer/box anywheee they sell shipping supplies. I recommend the dollar store (or you can always reuse packaging you have lying around). Once you package it up you’ll have to print out the shipping label that depop sent you (since you chose the medium option). Tape the label to your package and drop it off at usps

So basically first class is anything under a pound, if you're shipping a really small crop top or something like that it will usually be first class (because it's under a pound). Priority mail is anything over a pound. When you ship priority you have more insurance AND you get their free supplies.

Melissa Wheeler always count the weight together because that’s how usps is gonna weigh it...they’re not gonna take the item out and weight that itself, so make sure you weight the items and their packages together.

What do you mean you set a mailing date ? Did you schedule a pickup ? I’ve made a shipping label on PayPal and I’ve shipped the package three days later with no problem. I would say don’t mail it too far off from the date that’s printed on the label. Hope this answers your question

Monique Medina yeah but then you'll have to pay for it at the postal service office. And if you had a prepaid label in your email you're technically paying for shipping twice. If say you're shipping on your own then you can either print a prepaid label or write it out and pay for it at the post office like you said. BUT just keep in mind that it's cheaper paying for it beforehand (prepaid label) on PayPal. Watch the video I tell you a little about it

Well the label is proof that you paid and the label also has a barcode which usps scans in order to track the package. If you don’t have a prepaid label then yes you can write the address on the package but you will have to pay for it there at usps and they’ll print the barcode and everything else for you. So I recommend that you have a label already before going to usps, it’ll save you time and money. Hope you watched the video, it answers how you can get a label. amanda. If you're shipping jewelry then you won't be using priority mail (assuming the jewelry is less than a pound) so this means you'll need your own packaging. You can choose to send through letter mail in a regular envelope with a stamp since it is way cheaper BUT I don't recommend it because you don't get tracking info with letter mail and your customers will definitely want tracking info, also the jewlery has higher change of getting ruined that way. I would suggest to find cheap mini boxes on Amazon and poly mailers and use first class mail. When you make your own shipping labels you can use PayPal. I talk about how to do it at the end of the video. Let me know if you have more questions.

Abraham hi Abraham! So you’re shipping with the box ? I would go with a prepaid label on depop, so the “ship with depop” either Large or X large (depending on how much the whole package weighs). The X large is $14 and the large is $10.50 but that’s better than paying flat rate for them or paying without a Label, it’ll be about $17-20 depending how you ship and how heavy they are

No, so it’ll automatically be cheaper. using a service in which you can make your own label usually is always commercial based pricing which simply means it’s cheaper or “discounted”. So making your own adequate/appropriate label for your package will always be cheaper than shipping directly at USPS. Please keep in mind the following: 1. Usps has two main differences, FIRST CLASS mail and PRIORITY MAIL. 2. First class mail is anything under 1lb, so anything that’s 15 ounces or less. On PayPal 15 ounces or less counts as first class, but if you’re going directly to usps to ship they count anything over 13 ounces automatically priority mail. Priority mail is anything 1lb (16 ounces) or more. If you go to ship directly at usps anything that weighs 13 oz or more they will count as priority mail, but when making labels on PayPal it’s ok to use a package that weighs up to 15 ounces still be first class. 3. First class and priority differ because for first class mail you MUST use your own packaging, for priority you have the option to use the free priority mail packaging. 4. Priority mail costs more money because it’s supposedly faster shipping, you get free supplies, and your items are insured up to $50 i believe.

kayla xo well was there a prepaid label or did you pay for it there ? If you shipped with depop, meaning they gave you their label, then it's automatically tracking on the app. Tell your customer to click on the transaction and it'll give them the option to track, you don't need to do anything. If you arranged your own shipping (made your own label using PayPal or usps) then you have to provide the customer your tracking # you got upon paying for it. You will need to insert it in the app that way depop and your customer can access it.

The R.I.X then they probably just don't know that they can check themselves. Just tell them that you shipped via depop and both you and her can track through the depop app. All she needs to do is click on her profile and in the top middle will be an icon that looks like a receipt, if she presses on that and then chooses your transaction there will be a link that reads "where is my package" and she can track that way.

Yeah you can schedule free usps pickups from home if your packages are already paid for (have a prepaid label). Once you start shipping more you’ll get an idea how much items weigh and it’ll get easier...for example if I’m shipping a crop top I know off the bat that it doesn’t weigh more than 8oz so I choose the small option with Depop and I don’t weigh it honestly. And jeans usually weigh 1-2 lbs so I can choose to ship with Depop or I can arrange my own shipping and charge about $8 and ship flat rate. It depends on the item.

Jordan Patten hi Jordan, if your package is ready with the correct prepaid label on it, you can schedule pickups. (As long as you ship priority mail, first class, priority mail express, and there's another one it will be completely free) note: it's free because as mentioned earlier you should have paid for the shipping label which is basically paying for USPS services. If you sell items online I recommend you always get a receipt though.

Hi lois! How did you ship? Did you choose “ship with depop” or “arrange my own shipping” if you chose to ship with Depop then they provided the shipping label and (I’m assuming) you printed it out and taped it on your package now you can just drop it off at your usps and the tracking will automatically be updated since Depop made the label for you it’s automatically linked to the sale. However, if you chose to arrange your own shipping you’re gonna need to provide the tracking # from the usps receipt or if you made the shipping label on PayPal then provide the tracking # (they’ll email you the tracking #) there will be a section under the transaction for you to provide a tracking #

Jenene Martha yes that’s very important. So it’ll depend. For example if you go way over then they’ll either send the package back to you and you’re gonna have to buy another label or they’ll have the buyer pick up the package at their nearest postal office and they’ll charge them. OR if it goes over by just a little bit I’m sure they’ll overlook it.

Jenene Martha ok so if it’s significantly heavier for example say you paid for something like the size x small or small from “ship with depop” but the item actually weighs a pound, I would reach out to depop and have them void the label and refund you the $. It’ll take a few days for them to do that so I suggest making your own label on PayPal and shipping out and depop should refund you the $ to your PP account.

Lmao you’re not stupid The only way to drop an item off in the blue bin is if you have a prepaid label AND if you have a prepaid label then there’s a tracking # on it, that’s the tracking # you can track the package with :D You can only edit someone’s address by getting a new label and voiding the old label (in most cases you can get it refunded by Depop if you made the label with depop) if you made the label with PayPal then it’s so easy to void the old label and you’ll get refunded in a few days and you can just make a new one. If you don’t have a shipping label then that’s perfect because you can just get the new address and make a label for it.

Oh my goodness I thought I replied. Sorry lol. So if you ship with depop then tracking is already within the app. To track it you click on your profile and at the very top in the middle is a little receipt icon, click on the transaction you want to track and there will be a link so both you and your customer can access it :) just after you ship, I recommend that you notify your customer that you’ve shipped.

Hi :) I am supppperrrr confused about when you pick your package size on Depop . I am planning to sell shirts so when I pick the medium $8 package what do I do after ? Do I just get my own box , put the label on then take it to the post office? Like do I hv to pay that $8 ? I’m super confused hellpppp😂 Srry I’m new at this

D Esa so you're planning on using the "ship with DEPOP" option right? If so, then how heavy are your shirts because if they're not that heavy you can usually use the size small package (4.50$) if you watched the video you'd know that using priority mail (which are sizes medium-XL) you can use priority mail packaging, but if you use first class (size small) you need to use your own packaging. The label will be emailed to you once your item sells and you have the option of making your customer pay for shipping or if you wanna pay for it. Once you print your shipping label, you stick it onto your box and you're good to go. Make sure you have the USPS clerk at the postal office scan the package and give you a receipt just in case of anything.

Ximena Nava hi! I don't have a printer either, I use my local library and print out there. If you used "ship with depop" option then they send you the shipping label through your email so you can go to your public library or anyone else's computer who has a printer and log in to your email and print out the shipping label there. If you used "arrange my own shipping" you can just make your own label on PayPal (I show you how in one of my KZbin videos) and print it out right then and there, again just use a friends printer or a library near you.
