How To Shipwreck Patina Copper EDC Gear And Other Pieces!

Time for something a little different! I get a lot of compliments on the Olight i5T that I did my Shipwreck Patina on and today I decided that I would show everyone the process I use to create that patina. I hope you enjoy. Let’s get into it!
Materials you will need:
-Copper item
-Bowl and tinfoil or sealable container
-White household ammonia
-Spray bottle for ammonia (not required but very convenient)
-Natural sea salt (coarse)
-Organic ketchup (can use regular ketchup, just let it sit on the item longer)
-Paper towels
-Small brush (for applying ketchup
-Gloves (not required but recommended)

It’s kind of a fun process too. I’ve done it to a couple of flashlights and smaller gear just to add some flair to them, but it’s cool to just do it and see how it turns out. 😅

How is the patina now? Update?

Patina has held up just fine. Looks the same as the day is hot the video! Both clear coat and raw patina hold up well. Clear coating something your going to handle a lot will keep it looking like my flashlight does even after carrying.

Do you sand your first clear coat? And then reapply? That's the method I've been using. I'm pretty happy with it but I'm curious if there is other ways people do it

I have a zorro 912s lighter on the way, it's a very thick and heavy zippo style lighter (210 grams) of solid brass, I was gonna copper plate it and do this on it but would love a video before I attempt it myself and mess it up as I have no prior experience at all lol
