Yes, it will make fluorescent light's glow dimly. However that can be dangerous to try, as it is also capable of charging CFL's like a capacitor which will discharge if the terminals are touched with potentially dangerous amounts of current.

From an idea from AfroTech (the "Pikashoes", before the time of KZbin) back in 2004, I put a negative ion generator's (a 12V car portable one) module in a shoe, and had fun shocking people at school in 7th grade. The best results were when someone would sit in a desk, with a metal connection between the generator's ground and the subject, and then I would rub my hand through their hair, giving multiple shocks.

dont touch people with this who might get angry.And if you put this thing at a car it could eventually generate enough charge to be very dangerous.
@ataphelicopter57344 жыл бұрын
neutronen stern See, this has a huge voltage behind it, but basically no current, and each spark has a very short period, so it outputs very little power. Very high voltage sparks (such as lightning) can be dangerous, but that is due to the plasma from the arc superheating the air and any water nearby, and tends to kill from the explosion created by superheated steam, and burns from the plasma arc.

very nice tutorial. I made an upgraded version for a Halloween costume. I went as "High Voltage". I used 3 (9 volt batteries) in PARALLEL very important to not do series. ran the wires through a hole in a cargo pocket and screwed a plate into my shoe. and ran a second set of wires under my shirt into some electro-luminescent wire that surrounded a silkscreen print saying "danger! high voltage!" * worthy note: I had to triple insulate EVERYTHING with rubber spray. I was getting voltage loss and getting zapped many times before i found all the leaks. But its been a hit so far! I can do a short vid if anyone wants. Thanks Nighthawk!

The ampere (SI unit symbol: A), often shortened to amp,[1] is the SI unit of electric current[2][3] (dimension symbol: I)[4] and is one of the seven[5] SI base units. It is named after André-Marie Ampère (1775-1836), French mathematician and physicist, considered the father of electrodynamics. It's on the wiki!

If you held a lightbulb would it turn on
@sekgo126511 жыл бұрын
Yes, depending on how many watts the lightbulb is on :)
@MagmaRhino11 жыл бұрын
No it wouldn't, it isn't grounded. The power will only flow if what you touch is somehow touching the ground.
@sekgo126511 жыл бұрын
MagmaRhino It is "on the ground" aka. it has a "connection with the ground", that's why he puts the metal under his foot... So yeah, it does have ground connection and it would turn on, depending on how many watts the lightbulb is on :)
@MagmaRhino11 жыл бұрын
LuuxIor. Ljungberg No...you don't get how electricity works do you? First of all, the ground on his foot is isolated from his body via the rubber shoe sole. The only way for the high (his body) to get to the ground (on the bottom of his shoe) is if whatever he touches is somehow touching the physical ground he is standing on (assuming whatever it is that is touching is slightly conductive). So therefore, no. A lightbulb wont turn on unless you soldered a wire to the negative output and let the wire touch the ground.
@sekgo126511 жыл бұрын
MagmaRhino What you are saying here is incorrect, because there runs a fricking wire from the plate under his shoe, to the machine. So no, it doesnt matter if it's rubber of fucking metal shoes he is wearing. Second of all; Static electricity is what this machine generates, and static electricity of this amount will EASILY charge a lightbulb. Boo fucking hoo.

We had this old 40" CRT that had been sitting around unplugged for months, because my father wanted to repair it, but in the end, a brand new large LCD panel was cheaper than replacement parts for an aging TV. So, on day, I was looking for my father's soldering iron, and it was next to this thing. So I bend to pick it up and doing so I place my hand flat on the backside of the CRT. Next thing I remember I was laying on my back some 6 feet away.

Utilizing it even an hour a day seems to increase conductivity or enhancement of receptors for receiving more fluxea of negative ions, resulting in ALOT better vibes. This really is no toy but it isn't so difficult to build so anyone attempting to use... make sure you are healthy and know what you're getting into. Thanks for the schematics, Nighthawk.

As a lesser point when making micro chips we had to plug ourselves into an earth at every desk or we risked blowing the circuits up with our static electricity. Once the lid is on the chip it is far less sensitive.

why is it necessary to have the high voltage ground plate touching the surface you're standing on? Im pretty sure I understand why it's attached to your shoe (but please correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, here's my best educated guess: The high voltage positive of the supply is solidly contacted to the wearers skin. Since your body is well insulated by the shoe from the surface your standing on, your body is able to hold a strong positive charge. otherwise as the high voltage positive of the supply pulls electrons from your body, electrons would be pulled from the floor to neutralize the difference in charge so your body is shorting the HV output of the supply. Since you're wearing the insulating rubber shoes , you're body gains a strong, sustainable positive charge and results in a small parasitic capacitance between your body and the HV ground. So it makes sense why you'd connect the HV ground plate to the bottom of your shoe since this will increase this capacitance due to the added surface area of the plate and its closer proximity to your body. But why is it important that the floor touch HV ground? I know you're right and I'm sure it's probably a very simple reason for this but I'm missing it. anyway sorry, RECAP: -SHOES KEEP BODY FROM LOSING CHARGE THRU THE FLOOR -YOUR BODY IS THE POSITIVE 'PLATE' OF A CAPACITOR WITH THE GROUND PLATE UNDER YOUR SHOE INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF CHARGE STORED PER VOLTAGE, AND THUS, PRODUCING A STRONGER ELECTRIC FIELD AROUND YOUR BODY. now if any of that is wrong please let me know and also help explain the purpose of the standing surface and HV ground contact.

Wow, I love this video so much, tbh im going to be contacting you back again, I'm a film student and I want to use this concept for a script idea I have, thank you so much

oh, so I made one of these. Bit differently but you gave me the idea. I have 3 plate lithium ions @ 15000 mah (11.1V) that power a negative ion generator I got on ebay for about 5 bucks I think. The batteries I had from my pi box that powered a mini screen. The batteries fit nicely into a old project box and the negative ion generator is glued on top. I had some aluminium tape that helped with surface area for skin contact. Doesnt look as pretty as yours but its a bit smaller and probably gives off more power because its roughly 3 volts more input. I named it, "The hand of god" (inscribed on it)

You don't say? I was like 11 years old. I'm 23 now and while I don't actually have a degree in electrical engineering like my dad, I know enough to repair most of my stuff. I got shocked dozens of time more after that. I actually got socked on 120v by flicking a light switch, no idea how that happened. But I've learned my lesson. I"m never touching a cathode ray tube again.

It does not "push" electrons ount the red wire, it actually pulls. So if you touch someone barefooted, the electrons will flow from Ground (negative) through him and into your device. The device then pumps then back into ground.

wrong.. it pulls electron from the ground, into the device towards the output. It's a -ve ion generator so the output is actually a very high [about 4k V] negative DC terminal

Congratulations you said the exact same shit he said.

Angry dark Don't humiliate yourself. For a negative ion generator, the output is high voltage NEGATIVE DC. So it does, PUSH electron out the output to create -ve ions duhh.. It does not pull the electron from the shock receiver, but from it's own grounding.

Is it possible that you use the same type of idea, as far as the leg & foot harness, to not shock but pull objects in using magnetism?? That would kick ass !

I must have a answer while I am not using or touching anything does the volt battery run out I mean like if I don’t touch anything?
@Nighthawkinlight6 жыл бұрын
If the power is on it will drain the battery, yes.

Wonder if breathing in relatively negative charged air for a length of time has any effect.

3:43 May I suggest a heat gun? you can pick one up at Radioshack for I'd say 20-40 bucks.

That generator ain't got nothing against my fluffy bathrobe and a pair of Crocs during a super dry winter evening. By the way, have you tried holding a fluorescent tube while wearing this generator? I bet you can make it light up like a freaking lightsaber.

can I make two of these and become a super-villain? OOH! I could conceal them in big evil-boots!

Well, by levitate I meant like hold it to your hand, as though you were an electromagnet. Not like, make it float in mid air, but I was wondering if you could attract metals?

I once tried muscle stimulators..I think they are a couple hundred volts AC power, very low current, and they did hurt somewhat since vitualy my entire leg was ON....but I guess it depends on how much used to it you get. How do you discharge yourself completely once you turn this device off ? Is there any residual static charge ?

If you connect the red wire to your body and black wire to the ground, you are positively charged. You produced positive ions.
