Great video!!! I did notice something that you're doing that I'd like to point out. While you were editing in Camera Raw, I noticed that you have your color profile settings set to "Adobe RGB". If that is intentional then you may ignore this, but what I've come to notice is that when you edit using the Adobe RGB color profile, upon converting back to sRGB when saving as a JPEG, you may notice some color shifts. Those color shifts can be a bit annoying so it's always best to edit in the sRGB color space and then save the image with the sRGB profile.

When I shoot at night on tripod, I normally shoot at 1/40 to 1/80 sec to get more ambient light and I don't have bust exposure and introduce noise. I find at that shutter speed there is no movement in the model. Great video.
@BachPhotography7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips, I think at 1/40 it would be hard to get the model to stay still enough to stop motion blur, but ill give it a go!

If I may contribute with a personal opinion, consider the opposite approach for introducing less noice in the image when shooting in very low light. That is overexpose a by a third of a stop or half a stop and bring the exposure down instead of having to raise the shadows or the overall exposure. Set a higher ISO if you intend to bring exposure down in post ending up with an overall less noisier image. I am not taking any credit for this approach, I can't remember which sony spokeperson I heard it from originally, but it wasn't me coming up with it, just thought it would be something worth considering and sharing. I personally shoot with a sony a7rIII and the way the camera manages noise at high ISO is simply impressive. I am sure the a7rII isn't far behind.
@osasenoma-owens50727 жыл бұрын
Great technique! It is one I use as well. Another thing to note is to avoid sharpening areas of the image which contain noise, such as shadows.

gotta say i always look for photographers with less subscribers because definitely not just those couple of photographers who have countless number of subscribers recommend the stuff you need or at least low budget stuff.. I'm a student and i do landscape and City scape photography for fun and looking forward to start some portrait photography and use my friends as the models :D .... this Yongnuo 300 seems to be pretty cool .... i have the Yongnuo 568 ex II and it's pretty good but i was looking for something extra in case the ambient light is not helping that much especially that i don't own a 1.8 prime lens ... respect for this nice simplified video you got a subscriber!

I was about to give this video a thumbs down because even though everyone says content is king and you should put your maximum effort into creating it, many people at the beginning of videos say, "Oh this is just a quick video ... blah blah" which implies to me that they just slapped together something in order get something onto the net and look relevant. Luckily, for me, I stayed to hear the reasons why your model was wearing work clothes; why little makeup; choice of location etc etc which all went back to the practice thing, so in the end it was great. Business owners need to keep in the zone and be productive. It's better than staying at home and doing diddly squat. Sage advice. Good work!

@@BachPhotography Fine. But, do we let others know what we think isn't any good? Thumbs down is one way of doing it. Nothing worse than having to sit through videos that aren't useful/click baity etc etc. Sounds like you just expect thumbs up only. I'll unsubscribe then. Bad vibes.

dude... you're using a 7rii an f1.4 lens and a tripod... so please don't be a snob; you can easily get your shutter down to 1/30 at f1.4 if you wanted, it would be steady and clear; what i do with a simple d5600 is up to 1/200 at f1.8 and iso 1600 or even 3200 to get ambient light for a beautifully lit& blurry background (also saves you the pain to light it up in post, adding that noise you so much hate in the process) respect you for your use of lighting but not so much for overprocessing the poor girl's skin (i kinda like some imperfections, but now that's just me)
