Thanks for another great video, Nick. I almost wrote an essay here with the many things I learned from your videos, so I'll just say, thank you for making it very easy to understand. XD

Thank you so much for these videos they have helped tremendously and improved my fun in the sim. Did you used to do live videos on Facebook? Also may I ask what do you use as a flight stick ect. Thanks again

No never done live on FB. I might start doing some lives on here though. I use a Logitech right now but it's pretty bad so I'm gonna upgrade to a honeycomb as soon as I have to money.

@DizzySloth02 I have a thrustmaster t flight. I was looking at the turtle Beach yoke and the honeycomb still undecided.

@DizzySloth02 I like the throttle quadrant of the turtle beach as I mainly fly the Cesna on the sim and it has the fuel and mixture controls

Noob question: You increased flaps with an airspeed of 105 KTS, but I seem to recall that the game told me to not increase flaps until I was in the flap operating range, the white area from 85 KTS and below. So you can still use a little bit of flaps before that?
@DizzySloth022 күн бұрын
@@MetalGamer666 yeah it depends on the aircraft. The Cessna you can take flaps 10 below 110kts and flaps 20/30 below 85kts
@MetalGamer6662 күн бұрын
@@DizzySloth02 Cool, thanks. There is an annoying bug with a lot of aircrafts (not the Cessna) where you get penalized for using flaps outside of the flap operating range even though you are close to stall speed, so I was really confused when flying other planes for a while.
@DizzySloth02Күн бұрын
@ yeah I’ve had that happen too

Atc seems the be worse than msfsX. In X , atc would set you up for the approach, (intercept the localiser), in 2024, I can't get it to do that. In X, I could ask ATC for specific approaches, but in 2024, I'm limited to only change destination, or cancel IFR. Am I doing something wrong, or if the flight sim that came out 25 years ago really more advanced, and in my opinion , a better tool for instrument practice approaches?
@DizzySloth022 күн бұрын
@@richardmancini4112 honestly I can’t really say anything about it bc I haven’t messed with it yet. If you wanna practice ATC though tryout VATSIM. It’s as realistic as it gets for a sim.

Thanks for these vids! What do you mean by "minimums" when you decide to switch to hand-flying? Also, I heard you should always try to land into a headwind. How do you take that into consideration if you're flight planning in advance? Do you have to change plans mid-flight if the winds shift at the destination airport?
@DizzySloth022 күн бұрын
@wo0ter Yes you definitely always want to land with a head wind I just left that out for the sake of teaching the approach. If the winds change in route you'd just change the approach to a different runway. If you're already on final and the winds change you can stay on the same runway just keep in mind your landing distance will increase. Minimums in the lowest altitude that you could go whilst still not seeing the runway environment. So if you didn't see the runway by the time you minimums then you'd have to go missed. Video coming out on that later.
@iceweasel21992 күн бұрын
For the altitude change, wouldnt it also work to go trough the VNV setting so it changes right after passing the waypoint or does this mess up anything else? Noob here, just wondering ;)
@DizzySloth022 күн бұрын
so I'm not 100% because i don't use VNV all that often but I think that for the Cessna you'd have to load the altitudes into the flight plan manually and then It would. I'll include the use of VNV in the RNAV tutorial.
@iceweasel2199Күн бұрын
@@DizzySloth02 FYI: I tested it out yesterday, using VNV for the Descend @TOD and it worked perfectly fine on GPS mode. I'll do another run today in order to confirm it wasnt just luck. Either way, I nailed my first ILS flight and learned a ton from your videos. Looking forward to learning about RNAV ! Thanks for the work man !

@DizzySloth0218 сағат бұрын
Unfortunately I haven't dove into that avionics system so I don't have much advice to give you. I will eventually start posting videos on more planes eventually. For now try and find keys or buttons related to the 172. For example, FLC in the 172 is a softkey... in the vision jet it will be labeled the same just in a different spot or in a different tab. Sorry I couldn't help any further.
